My Antarian Ranger is face-to-face (in adjacent squares) with my opponents Whiphid Tracker. If I move my ranger away from the tracker, into a square the tracker does not threaten, does my opponent get to make an attack of opportunity?

Just to be clear here. I am new to the game and the ruling was that the opponent does not get the AoO. I however think the opponent does get the AoO by what I read in the rules.

There is no "threaten" area in SWM. An AoO can happen whenever you move out of a square adjacent to an enemy, no matter where the ending square is. You seem to understand the rules as written.

Keep in mind that when AoO checks as you declare movement away from the opponent's piece as it was being adjacent, it is also subject to the use of Special Abilities, such as Twin attack, Opportunist (as you declare moving the piece away), FP and Special Abilities that doesn't replace attacks or turn. AoO allows some flexibility whether an enemy piece decides to move away from that character's adjacent space.
