Greetings everyone!

This post is announcing this year's 8th Sunday Regional! Creatively titled:

OCTOBER SUNDAY REGIONAL!!!

ALL ARE WELCOME, regardless of geography!!!

Please let me know in this thread if you plan on playing. I'll have a running list

No restrictions or requirements this month, just legal 200pt squads

Additional request - Have a Discord account! It is FREE! It is super handy! We can all chat in the main room between games. You can check out other people's games if you finish early (and hear them talk!)

Not required, but strongly encouraged!

Squads and map selections can be PMed to TimmerB123 anytime after Thursday October 21st (I will PM a neutral party my squad before then). Please send squad link, copy/paste of squad, map, and DISCORD NAME (with the # and 4 digits)

*Registration ENDS Octoberber 24th at 11:30am central time (please save your squad on vassal beforehand for efficiency)

*Rounds begin promptly at 12:30pm central time (1:30pm Eastern).

{Please gather in Vassal and Discord by 10 minutes before the start time}

Gameplay in each round will last exactly 75 minutes. Each player is responsible for timing their own games. Players are expected to set up and be ready to start at a reasonably fast pace to keep the tournament moving.

Number of Swiss (initial) rounds depend on number of participants.
<8 = 3 rounds, cut to top 2 (or just straight 4 rounds of Swiss, decided based on numbers)
9-16 = 4 rounds, cut to top 4
17-32 = 5 rounds (very optimistic here), cut to top 4

There will be a break after round three, unless people want a break at another time.

-- Maplist
We will be using the new restricted map list for 2021-2022. All of the maps are available on Vassal now (8/13), so make sure to Download version 22.1 here.

Quote:
Imperial Garrison
Asteroid Base
Cloud City
Gangster's Vault
Desert Marketplace
Imperial Checkpoint
Oceanic Facility
Royal Militia HQ

NOTE: Again, please make sure we all have the updated version (link above) in place and tested before the day of the tournament, so things run smoothly.

ALSO NOTE: Players will be responsible for knowing all errata, floor rules, etc. (Including the latest change to rigged detonators!) http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=31469)
Changes can be found here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=20395
and here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=28568

This will be an official Star Wars™ Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) sacnctioned event. The SWM GPA Floor Rules will be in effect.
(The Star Wars Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) Floor Rules and the Star Wars Miniatures Game Rules should be read and understood by all players wishing to compete in sanctioned events. All SWMGPA members participating in SWMGPA-sanctioned Star Wars™ Miniatures events must abide by these rules.)

I hate to say this but my church moved from 10-12 to 11-1 central. So I wouldn't be able to start til 130 central, I know it has already moved. If there is ever an odd number or something and everyone is getting a bye and no other conflicts I'd love to play and maybe take the first bye. If not id still love to play and take a loss but that is not fair so I completely understand.
Sorry!

I'm in for October 24.

Was Udorian the person for whom we were having a later (12:30 CST) start time? If so, then perhaps now we could move the start up a bit earlier? I'd be good with a start as early as 11:00 or 11:30 CST, if that would work for the rest of the people.

As always, I'd like to get as many people involved as possible.

Potential players - if you have a "must stop by" time, please provide that so that we can see what can accommodate the most players.

With the current start time, at 5 rounds we'd end around 7pm eastern (approx).

I don't have a stop by time, but ending earlier on a Sunday is a little bit better. Also, I'm an impatient person by nature, so starting earlier appeals to me. But it's fine either way.

It won’t start before 12:30 central.

It’s between 12:30 central or a later start to accommodate more people.

Guess I was confused. Trevor was asking about starting earlier. As long as we're done by about 9 central, I'm good.

Any other players joining us on Sunday?

tint, it wasn't clear if pushing the time back an hour would mean you could not play. (or would have to leave early)

Again, I think we all want the most players to play as possible. And considering the low numbers as is, we need all the help we can get.

I hear you.

As I have for the last few tournaments, I'll likely need to leave early if we start at 12:30 Central.

Well you certainly won't have to if nobody else joins us. Maybe not regardless.

We'll keep it at 12:30 central (Sorry Udorian), and try and push Trevor's games through asap.

If we do round robin again, I'll be willing to stay longer and play last with Udorian, so everyone gets all their games in.

TINT - all games asap, including Udorian when he arrives

Udorian - play TINT after you arrive, and other players after

In theory this should work.

Hopefully we get some more players regardless

It just occurred to me!

Let's commit to doing round robin, and Laura and TINT - if you're both willing, you can get your game in before 12:30 Eastern on Sunday. That way Trevor will be sure to get all of his games in. If you're both willing to do that, set it up with each other and go for it.

Then Udorian84 can join us whenever he is free. I will commit to playing him last so others can be done earlier.

If we have another player or 2 join us (hopefully!) this won't effect anything, as in the Round Robin format everyone plays everyone.

Cool! I'll show up at 11:30 CST for a game with Laura, or even earlier if I can swing it.

I apologize for this but something came up last night that Janelle just informed me about. A death in our church family happened and they are doing the services this Sunday after church. Janelle will be in charge of a few things for the services and funeral so I will be at the first part and then come home with the 7 kids. I will not be able to play on Sunday.

Thanks for getting everything ready for me to be able to participate though.
