Can I use this to change a Vader who is a commander into a different Vader? Or would it have to be someone other than Vader?

So that Unique character is no longer considered "in your squad" after it's been removed from play by Pelleaon?

I know you can't bring in another Unique version with Reserves after its original has been removed from play.
