Can you start 4 squares into your opponents side of the map?

No.
The starting zone is a defined area 4 squares from the edge of the board.
Vector Prime allows you to set up within 4 squares of your starting zone.
Abilities like forward positioning, emplacement, etc allow you to set up in a space on the map that isn't in your starting zone, however it doesn't change where the starting zone is (the first 4 squares of the map)

That’s what we thought, but wanted to confirm.
