Dao has some great tricks, but is just too fragile. If she just had 10 more HP that would make a big difference. In my first game I stupidly forgot the entire game that even when I get 4 attacks, I can still missile/electrified net on top of that. That might have flipped the results. Never quite found the chance to use event manipulator, again probably because she’s so fragile. Last thing you want is for her to be adjacent to an enemy. I had thoughts of putting enemies adjacent to each other for an improved missile overload from Montross (especially a diplomat?), but you have to be on the opposite side of both enemies to not get hit yourself. It would be a very very unique situation where it was the right play. You’d rarely be within 6 to use it, and running 12 to use it instead of 4 attacks and a missile/net is a massive exchange. It’s a good squad overall, but not totally top tier

What seemed good/bad about this squad after playing it? This squad is not worth playing...Tier 2 at best. Son of Skywalker is not worth 45pts, and I question the value of Artoo for 18pts. To get the Prison Break squad, drop Sabine and SoS (25pts and 45pts), then buy L&L (55pts) and Crix (16pts). Then Artoo downgrades to the regular R2, and you add Dodonna. This squad base (Han, Chewie, Lando) was actually the goal I had in mind several years ago, when I came up with the Prison Break idea. I wanted to find a way to get a little bit more "punch" in the squad so I recognized that Lando gave a major boost to HanSicle, which led to the Prison Break squad. But this Han, along with Lando and Chewbacca, was the foundation that I originally had in mind. I think the Prison Break squad is so much better than this squad is, because a high-powered (and high-hp) strafer is always good, and Disruptive (along with a great BG) is very helpful...and back in the day, Dodonna's CE was really helpful too. It's nice to free Han when you can, but it's definitely not necessary.

I think they're both better paired with the RS versions of their partner. Threepio with the Cloaked trigger is obviously better for a shooting meta. But if you have no CE to transmit, and are expecting a more melee meta (or such high attackers that nobody misses anyway), then Threepio isn't worth including. Artoo could be a good choice, but you need a squad that makes good use of the movement breaker.

See-Threepio is auto-include in any meta. He’s far to cheap to pass up for what he does. You mentioned “such high attackers nobody misses”. Guess what? Montross needed 3s, and roll a 2 on his second attack in our game. What did we do? Nothing for the rest of the round. Needlessly prolonged the game. You also mentioned non-melee meta. But the really unfortunate thing is that seethreepio was so poorly designed that he is EVEN WORSE for melee. I played a game years ago with him vs 100pt Sidious and Vader of Lothal. He singlehandedly won the game. Stood in a 1 square wide doorway and they couldn’t get through. Diplomat + distraction absolutely is crushing to melee. The piece just wasn’t thought through at all.

See Threepio is absolute Trash. The idea that See Threepio can grant Cloaked to others is so bad. Diplomat and Distraction is one of the greatest combos of all time for melee hate. On top of all that he is a perfect Relay Orders piece. It absolutely stops Rebels from ever being 1) fun 2) competitive because pieces like that stunt future designs.
It (like Bastila) need to be gotten rid of. OPEN UP THE FACTIONS!
I just played a few games with some of the TN guys and they all said the same type of stuff. "Why are so many factions obsolete without having a degree in the sub-factions?" was a verbatim question that was asked. They said they couldn't even tell what was powerful in Republic and New Republic and that those 2 factions should be some of the easiest to build with.
