adamb0nd vs thereisnotry
adamb0nd wins 188 vs 168

Good match. Yobuck had some good initial gallops followed by a very well executed momaw throat x2 for 20 auto damage to 5 or 6 pirates. I lost most of my door control early.

Hondo stayed back and fell out of the action, which resulted him being overlooked until he managed to take out blizz with a double attack.

Nym was probably MVP, with his disruptive working well against the swap mechanic, and 1 decent placed grenade against 5 characters.

TINT is always a great opponent. GG

thereisnotry defeats urbanshmi
200-74

Stryfe did some heavy damage to Yobuck to start the game, but took a pile of damage in return and then I won the next which allowed me to finish him off. After that it was mostly about hitting as many targets as I could each time I did a flame/aoe ability. Lotsa fun, as always!

Adamb0nd vs Timmer.
adamb0nd wins 152 vs 65

Some poor baskergam rolls from Timmer's Ordo, topped off by GARY rolling a nat 1 and joining the Poop Party instead of killing Crimson put him at a disadvantage. Still a great game.

thereisnotry defeats GandalfthegreatestWizard, 200-48

My reinforcements were max activations, while Galdalf brought a Dug Thug. We played on Asteroid Base, with me on the left.

Gandalf had a really cool squad! Pote Snitkin = the fringe version of Captain Tarpals. However, I had more movement to work with and more activations, which proved to be the difference in the end. This was a game of slowly whittling down his forces in a game of attrition. I was lucky to get Black K in the first round due to some failed missiles a crit on a gallop and some failed parries. I then flamed Calo down to half health, so he tossed a grenade which I dodged, then he respawned. In the second round my Blizz made some shield saves to stay alive after a smooth move to push Calo forward. Back and forth it went, with me staying out of sight as much as possible. The last to drop were Gandalf's Evazan and Jabba.

adamb0nd vs DarthJim
adamb0nd wins 206 to 108.

Another solid game. Jim had some 1's and 3's where he need just a little more on the dice. Zothip's CE was a good counter to the many 3pt. rodians on the board.

gandalf 203, UrbanShmi 65 on Imperial Garrison

First round Krrsantan rushed up to Throw some objects at Stryfe, then Stryfe hit back on Krrsantan. Calo and Evazan finished Stryfe off from the back. Second round Blizz missiled a couple of Sith, and UrbanShmi started a trend of failing save 11s. Nihl and others came in to hit/zap Krrsantan, leaving him on 10. Evazan healed Krrsantan 30 to stop him from dying from POTDS, then dropped him back to 10 with a failed Homicidal Surgery. Krrsantan died to POTDS. Calo dropped some grenades on Nihl/Wyyrlok/Bandon, with them all failing all saves including rerolls. Evazan avoided his defeat twice in a row, and Calo/Blizz finished off the rest.

I lost to Randy 2-1 (110-112)

Beat Jim 2-1 forget the exact score

Also, if memory serves -

Jim beat Laura in a close one (3-1 or 2-1)

Not a great day for my squad, but every game was pretty close.

Went 1-3, losing 2 very close games.

My squad was based on my old Jaq'ed Up squad, which essentially just subs in Ordo MC for Lord Kaan and a Rodian Brute (also upgraded a Rodian Brute to an XT-6).

My thought was that with the meta having less swarms, a pseudo-accurate Jaq would be very valuable. Unfortunately, literally every single game Kaan would have been better!

Master Shot is not easy to use even for Canderous. Doubly so for Jaq to use. My thought was Revan swap into position, shoot and lock. But one of Jaq's main strengths is his mobility. Taking that away hurts more than it helps him.

Here's the kicker though - in my first match vs Adam, totally forgot Master shot nerfs evade. His whole squad (outside the 4 scrubs) had evade! It was a brutal combo with disruptive. Shooting at a distance vs evade or get in close and face disruptive. I shot multiple times without moving, but simply didn't declare master shot. I even over-stretched to base enemies so they couldn't evade (Revan swap), then stood still shooting. I had the counter and just spaced it. Don't know if it would have helped me win, but it would be a significant change. Lol, I even had to remind him to kill my XT and mouse with his Captain Zoloff NPE CE (it doesn't appear to be optional). Not having an XT and a mouse really hurt.

I think Jim played Randy, and I want to say Jim won 2-1 (could be wrong).

Thanks TJ for the summary.

It was unfortunate that the only two 3-1 records didn't face off. I call them co-champions. They can face off on their own for fun if they like (it would be a good game!)

Oh, and G.A.R.Y. defected TWICE! Both times in the last round, so I couldn't even kill him to score points for myself. It also made it so Jaq couldn't make a kill without the cunning. LOL Brutal

Is the tournament over? Because 3 players have a strong claim to be the winner, and a 4th could make that claim.

gandalf is ahead on points.
tint has the most pts per game - with a good chance of passing gandalf if he plays game 4.
adam is the only player who started 3-0.
And Randy also has only 1 loss.

Interesting setup. If it's not officially over yet, I'd personally just cut to those 4 and have round 1 of knockouts be to matchup with whoever you didn't play yet.
adam vs gandalf.
tint vs Randy.
Winners for the title.

---
Edit: If Jim defeated Randy, then that doesn't work out quite so cleanly.

I defeated Laura 2-1, I defeated Randy 3-1, I lost to Adam 1-3, I lost to Tim 0-2.

So I was 2-2 with 6pts.

It was a scramble. Lots of conflicting schedules with not enough overlap. So we paired somewhat based on schedule, somewhat on record, somewhat on just who was available next.

We did the best we could with the circumstances. It was really just an excuse to play and have fun.

As I said - I'd declare Adam and Joe co-champs, with the option to play off on their own if they like.

As much as I have always disliked the 3-2-1 system, it has even less meaning in small tournaments. I'm fine with it being tie-breakers in an A beat B beat C beat A situation, but record should always take precedence, especially head-to-head. Had Adam and Joe played, there would be a clear winner.

With the size of our community these days, and these smaller events - I feel like full round robin is the best way to show a true winner. No avoiding a bad matchup.
