After much discussion and consideration, I've decided to host the first post-Vassal Con online event as a long-form tournament.

How this works: Build a 200-point squad (or two). Each week, beginning on October 1, you will be matched with another competitor. You and your competitor will have 1 week to schedule and play a match, using squads submitted and publicized in advance. Because this is the first major online tournament where v-set 24 is legal, I want people to have as many opportunities to explore the set as possible. Therefore, every other round, you will have the opportunity to change squads. You are not REQUIRED to include new pieces in your squads, but you are certainly welcome to do so.

We will be playing a standard number of Swiss rounds based on the number of players. Cut to a top 2 or top 4.

Please let me know in this thread if you plan on playing.

Please send in your first squad with link and map choice by 12 noon on October 1st (Central). I will post in this thread when I have submitted my squad--you may submit your squad to me any time after that.



Additional request - Have a Discord account! It is FREE! It is super handy! We can all chat in the main room between games. This is coming to be the easiest way for players to communicate during games, but you can certainly Skype or do a phone call if preferred.

Not required, but strongly encouraged!



Gameplay in each round will last exactly 75 minutes. Each player is responsible for timing their own games. Please post a play report after your game is completed, so that we know who won.

Spry talked about doing round robin, depending on the number of players. Honestly, I'd probably prefer just Swiss rounds depending on the number of players. With playoffs as appropriate. Since I'm the TO, I guess it's my call. So I'll update the top post.
