The character does not count as having a lightsaber.
The Melee attacks count as attacks with a lightsaber.

Ok, so that answers my question that it would not count as having a lightsaber for the purpose of a CE, but how would this work with Cortosis Guantlet on the imperial knights?

It would not affect damage, because Cortosis reads ...from an enemy with a lightsaber, not an attack from a lightsaber. That being said, it DOES work against Dark Armor and Damage Reduction

Ok, but Tarre Vizsla would count as having a lightsaber?
Must be a backup one since the dark saber doesn’t count.

The mini has a lightsaber and he has 2 Force Powers that include the word Lightsaber, so he is considered to have a Lightsaber.

So maybe my question should have been what is needed for a piece to count as having a lightsaber?

This is easy to determine for the WotC minis. For V-set minis, you have to look at the physical card or PDF. That is because sometimes a recommended mini is used that has a lightsaber, but the lightsaber is erased from the card image. On bloo, this is usually indicated by "No Lightsaber" on the character's bloomilk page. * Have a Force power with the word Lightsaber in it. * Have the special ability "Lightsaber". EDIT: Or "Lightsaber Wielder" special ability.

Thank you. With the Darksaber literally being a lightsaber and the Darksaber special ability essentially being Lightsaber +20, it seems like it should be included in that list.
For Moff Gideon specifically, his piece on the card shows him holding the ignited Darksaber (a lightsaber), so he would count as having a lightsaber correct?
