Does Stalwart work against Force Powers that replace attacks ( ie; Lightsaber Assault ) or just against enemy special abilities?

Then piggy backing the first question; Force Nexus has the following Force power;
Force Shroud (Force 2, replaces turn: For the rest of the skirmish, this character gains the following commander effect: Enemy abilities cannot target an ally with a Force rating and Melee Attack who is within 2 squares of this character)
Does this work against enemy Force powers and Special abilities?

Lightsaber Assault doesn't trigger based on a critical hit or an attack number. Do you have another example? Stalwart affects "abilities". The word "abilities" includes both "Force Powers" and "Special Abilities", but it only affects abilities that both (a) trigger on a crit or a rolled number and (b) affect the character with Stalwart.

Oh I see - you're talking about the second half of Stalwart. For that part, the damage has to come directly from the ability. It could be a Force Power or a Special Ability, but Stalwart does not come up on regular attacks, even if those attacks were generated by a Force Power. So Stalwart does nothing against Lightsaber Assault, but it would work against both Force Push and Grenades (reducing damage to 10).

Does this work against enemy Force powers and Special abilities? Yes, if the abilities target. Most things target. If an ability doesn't target, it will generally say so either in the card or in the glossary. Or it will be a general "everybody within X squares" gets affected. Those sorts of abilities generally do not target.

Does this work against enemy Force powers and Special abilities? Yes and Yes. You wouldn't be able to use things like Force Lighting or Missiles or any ability that Targets. You could still do things that create an attack (like Lightsaber Assault or or Charging Fire etc)
