I just received 3 fine-point brushes plus a set of acrylic paint for Christmas. Is that what I need to paint customs? If not, I'll have to swap it for something else. I haven't painted anything that wasn't with Lily_Wan at GenCon. I hadn't even planned on painting anything, but looks like Santa says I have to. I do have several unpainted 3d custom minis to work on. Nothing else remotely Star Wars related under the tree for me this year.

Artists' acrylics can work for minis — some brands like Liquitex or Golden work better. You must thin the paint and use several layers or you will lose detail. It's how most get started before buying acrylics made specifically for minis (Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter.)
