Commander Effect
Characters with Light Spirit are subject to these effects:
At the start of the skirmish, after setup, you may add a character named Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Spirit to your squad. Any "at the start of the skirmish" instances are immediately resolved.

Once per round, after initiative is determined, you may place 1 ally with Light Spirit within line of sight in a square adjacent to this character.


At the beginning of the skirmish, I replaced all 3 of my Versatility characters with cool versions of themselves ( 1 being Luke HOE ) and added Obi JS to my 150pt squad, and my team then became 151pts. Is this legal? Also, if Luke dies with Obi JS spiriting him, does my opponent get the 8 pts for Obi, as well?

I believe that the Obi is considered a re-enforcement, as he's added after the start of the skirmish. As a result, the re-enforcement rules come into play:
[Fringe Re-enforcements 30]:
During setup, after seeing your opponent’s squad, you can add up to 30 points of Fringe characters to your squad. These characters don’t count toward the cost of your squad, and your opponent doesn’t have to defeat them to win the skirmish. If you are scoring points for defeats, or in a tiebreaker, defeating these extra characters doesn’t score points.
So, yes to the first question. No to the second.

Yes, it's legal. Did you forget Luke Skywalker, Rebel Hero costs 1 less than Luke Skywalker, Hero of Endor?

Yes, your opponent gets 8pts for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Spirit.

Characters brought in via Commander Effects cost points and are NOT considered Reinforcements unless explicitly stated otherwise in the Commander Effect (e.g., Eight Cortex Shaper).

*Additional Note: Under BC rules, Reinforcements cost points and points are deducted from the cost of the character that brings them in.
