For the longest time I absolutely despised Old Republic. During the WotC era they were indisputably the worst faction. Now though, with the V-Sets, they're becoming one of my favorites. I really like the Covenant and Tales of the Jedi stuff. Worst faction has got to be the C.I.S. These guys have had nothing going on since Poggle Bombs. I feel they suffer from a very disparate design issue. You either go all in on droids with a Grievous or you try some jank living seps build with Asajj, Dooku, Maul. The two do not mix. And the droids just aren't good enough to compete with how the other factions have power crept. And living seps, well... They're just not good.

To be fair... I played Vong at Gen Con and I quite enjoyed it. I suppose that makes me the one and only.

Worst faction competitiveness is Vong. Biggest NPE is a different story though.

I think that the Vong, despite their significant hindrances (nearly all melee, quite limited movement breakers, very complex squad builds that require a lot of points to be spent on non-combat tech pieces) FORMERLY had one thing going for them: their Force Immunity. Nobody could use force powers against them, couldn't fprr, etc. That always put at least a bit of dread into the opponent.
But now, with the new Faith in the Force ability being used on some highly competitive pieces (Revan PK, Nomi especially), they've lost the final thing they had going for them. Now they're just a melee-only faction that has very limited access to movement breakers.
One other thing that used to help the Vong a lot was their Vonduun Crab Armor (esp VCA 6), because ignoring 10 dmg on every 20dmg attack is kinda huge...but since the base damage output for almost every piece nowadays is 30+ (and regularly 40), that damage mitigation has become significantly less impactful. Should they start to get Improved Vonduun Crab Armor (prevent 20dmg)? Or Improved Force Immunity?
...nah, it just starts to get stupid when we start doing this.
But the sad reality is that the Vong are largely neutered at this point.

Vongsense should be the only way to affect Vong with the Force. I think this must have gotten overlooked in design because, lets be honest, most people don't play the Vong or care about them. It'd be a simple change really: Faith in the Force (This character and allies with a lightsaber within 2 squares cannot be prevented from spending Force points or be forced to spend extra Force points. Their Force powers cannot be cancelled or prevented from affecting non-Yuuzhan Vong characters.)

No it was not. I made a mention of it.

Right now, I believe the Rebels are the weakest faction in the game. They suffer from weaker stats and less impactful synergies. They’re one of the more popular "good guy" factions. Yet when it comes to high-level competitive play, almost no one trusts them to carry the day in a big tournament.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the Yuuzhan Vong, who remain the least popular faction by far. But make no mistake — they are not weak.
Yo’gand— the Eighth Cortex Shaper! Yes, they're powerful. Truth is, our design team has done an excellent job of diverting players away from the more abusive Vong builds. But those squads — the ones that terrorized tables 6 years ago — are still devastating. The Vong can pull off stuff no other faction can even dream of… tricks that the Balance Committee nerfed into the ground for everyone else.
It's why Faith in the Force was designed — a deliberate, intentional counter to the Vong. We put it on Lor San Tekka, a cheap non-Force user, as a tactical choice.
He’s a New Republic piece, representing the faction that defeated the Vong. Tekka’s whole deal is collecting esoteric Force knowledge and obscure Jedi lore, making him a natural carrier for something this specialized. Vongsense — the ability to detect Vong through the Force — is usually tied to connecting with Vong bio-tech. But in the Expanded Universe, a handful of Force users pulled it off without any implants at all. Think Celeste Morne, Allana Solo, or the legendary Ganner Rhysode, who literally became one with the Force to hold off hundreds of Vong warriors single-handedly. Faith in the Force is meant to capture that kind of moment.
Then much later, the same set used Faith in the Force on both a Champion piece and a Community Playtester piece. That’s a lot of power, sure — but I think the design team and playtesters did a solid job keeping things balanced. At GenCon, I ran Revan against Hi-Fives Yo’gand squad. Let me tell you — the only reason I squeaked out that win was because of Jordan’s bad rolls. The match could’ve gone very differently.
I get that not everyone can make it to the tournaments, but if you really want to understand how the meta shakes out at the highest level, there’s no substitute for being there in person. Seeing the top squads in action, watching how the best players adapt on the fly — it gives you a whole new perspective.

Vong.
Least favorite for multiple reasons.
First, it's a faction that either shouldn't even exist or there should be multiple other factions. The other factions in the game (except Mandos) represent entire "good guy" or "bad guy" factions from a major era. Vong did have a lot more than just a trilogy of books, but not so much that they should have their own faction - unless we also introduce a Hutt faction, a Chiss faction, and several other subfactions that could be their own faction entirely. We're constantly adding more and more obscure Uniques to fill out the Vong faction. Mandos are similarly "small", but they are a civilization that spans all eras, and we aren't really at a loss for what else to make for the faction.
Second, as a hard counter to the Force, the Vong should itself have a hard counter. When the faction got crazy Evades, it had a way to beat its hard counter (shooting squads). But then FiF takes away its own hard counter, so I guess that balances out. But it all started with the premise of Force Immunity in the first place.
Third, Force Immunity is a big rules mess. We all have it down now for the most part, but it definitely is a place of confusion.

i just don't like how squishy the rebels feel. they just don't feel like they do enough for such low hp some of the time

They are my favorite faction and presently the worst. they have a bunch of synergy but it doesn't actually add up to a victory condition. They lack attack bonuses to hit anything, and most of them that can fold under any decent modern damage dealer.
I'm not bitter, they had plenty of time in the spot light
