Ok this came up at Dizzy Dugout. Spry and I could not find anything in the rule book to specify an answer. I figured the experts here could help us out.

When moving diagonally do you take a straight path from one square to the next or do you actually take a one over and up path? The reason I ask is that by moving diagonally I was able to avoid an AOO whereas if I had to move over one way then down I actually moved into an adjacent square.

Does that make sense without a visual?

A diagonal move is from one square directly to another - it is actually a good way to avoid AoOs sometimes. The exception is around a corner - you cannot diagonally move past a corner.

I believe you move straight from one square to the next. Note: you can't do this around corners of walls, then you would have to move one up, and one over.

Ok that is how we played it and that is how the rule book showed it. Thanks ThumbsUp
