I can't believe I'm starting a thread on this topic.

With the new minis in GAW, do you think it is time to let GOWk back into the DCI Tournaments again? Just think about it. If your squad looks like this:

--I fear no GOWK!!!--
51 Count Dooku of Serenno
51 Durge, Jedi Hunter
32 B3 Ultra Battle Droid
20 General Whorm Loathsom
16 A4-Series Lab Droid
14 Captain Mar Tuuk
13 Kel Dor Bounty Hunter
3 Mouse Droid

Flamethrower and SD 40 are unblockable damage, you can have Dooku Twin-Doubling GOWK (even twinning on the Riposte!) with a 1 in 2 chance of blocking GOWK. Durge can also Triple-Twin, really burning out GOWK's FPs for those saves. Lab Droid is to repair the B3, Tuuk is for activation control. So; should he be let back in? A clarification: I do not want this to turn into another hate thread or a rant thread; I am trying to provoke a logical discussion. I will have a mod delete the thread if people start ranting.

I wouldn't know who would be "ranting" around here....

Obviously if you take away his using SSM, then he's not that bad. Of course, if you focus a whole squad (or at least over 100pts) on defeating a 55pt character, then you know why they banned him in the first place. ;)

This squad, though, will work well against anyone. The B3 can be missiling or just triple-twinning all over the board, and so can Durge. Dooku, with his 16 attack, can hold his own against any grunt and kill them. So why not? I'd play it.

Sorry, wasn't debating the usefulness of the squad, just pointing out how difficult it was to defeat a certain 55pt character.

As far as the squad goes, it's ok. 8 activations, even with Tuuk, is really low in 200pts. Probably the lowest I've seen in a long time. Sure you have tough characters, but each one can almost be taken down in one turn any more. And that's just from clones...Wink

Like I always say, try it and see how it does. Playing is far more telling than on paper...BlooMilk

I would, but I don't have these characters. This was hypothetical. :)

This could not beat GOWK. You have direct damage and power in Durge but the squad overall just isnt that great. There is no way this can win a local event and no way can win a big event. A GOWK squad out acts you.

The Squad isnt even tier 3. You have zero override or uggies. The squad has some big beats but to get twin off you will have to run Gen WL in the action with only one Mouse in the squad. Last shooters will eat this squad alive.

This really I think is in the wrong area.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it's a strong enough ship to set sail in yet.
