Bloo Milk Official Custom Set Contest - January 2010 Design a 40 piece custom set. Rules: -Some or all of the characters can be ones you've already designed and posted here or elsewhere. -No new factions (only use the 10 existing factions). -Keep the current rarity distribution (8 VR, 8 R, 12 UC, 12 C). -All Uncommon and Common characters must be non-Unique. -Your set can include Huge and smaller characters (no Colossals), but even if it has Huges in it, just follow the normal rarity distribution as if it were a standard set. You could only have one Huge in your entire set, and that's fine. -No direct reprints from existing WotC sets. (i.e. You can create a new Darth Vader, but you can't include Lord Vader from Bounty Hunters in your set.) -No reprints/reposes within your set (so you can't do 3 Stormtrooper poses like Rebel Storm). Every character has to have different stats. -Must be Star Wars characters that exist in canon. If they have a Wookieepedia entry, you're good to go, no matter how obscure they are. Also, if they're some kind of generic trooper or grunt that makes sense in the Star Wars universe, that's fine too. -Make sure to clearly define what your custom Special Abilities and Force powers do in the card text. Prizes: -The top 3 submissions will be featured in the Customs section (alongside the existing Jedi Civil War set), with comments and ratings enabled. If there are more than 3 excellent submissions, they will all be featured. To Enter: -E-mail your stats to me (shinja) at webmaster@bloomilk.com by 1/31/2010. They can be in any common format. Don't post them in this thread. Winners will be posted sometime in February. Extra stuff: -I reserve the right to alter the wording on abilities and commander effects to match the existing format, fix typos, and/or clarify meaning.

So no generic reprints at all, even of the most basic versions?

Do we have to have custom figure images with the stats, or does that not matter?

Yeah, no reprints of even basic things. So you can't have the exact Ewok from Rebel Storm, but you could have Young Ewok or Brave Ewok or Ewok, Dashing Scoundrel. Part of making a whole new set, is having to come up with a bunch of new ideas.
Images aren't required -- you just need text versions of the stats.

What a great idea for a contest. I will submit my set in the coming weeks, but I have a question regarding images. May I submit custom figures to match the stats? What if the figures are the work of a friend (proper credit will be necessary)?

I assume if one were to do a Jedi Civil War-esque (basically KOTOR remake) set that would be permitted? Not to infringe on your work shinja, just had a few ideas for characters who weren't made yet and a few remakes that are badly needed.

You're welcome to submit pictures of miniatures with your set. They won't affect voting, but I'll display them with the stats in the Customs section if your set gets picked.
Your set can have any theme you want--doesn't matter if it's similar to an existing WotC set theme, or my Jedi Civil War custom set.
There are no limits on the number of submissions, but only complete 40 piece sets will be considered. So each submission needs to be a complete set.

Can we use regular pics of the person/thing we have as the mini?

Are we allowed to create our own Special Abilities/Force Powers (such as 'Juyo Style' or 'Force Protect')? Or are we limited only to those who were officially created by WotC?

-Make sure to clearly define what your custom Special Abilities and Force powers do in the card text
This line of text would be rather useless if you couldn't.

I hope you'll accept last minute submissions because I've had so much stuff going on since the start of this contest, that I've barely been able to work on my custom set at all. You may be recieving my submission the day before or something like that. Sorry if it's an inconvenience Shinja.

Would e-mailing it as an attatched Microsoft Word document work?
