I've tried running him in tournies recently and with the cost he has you could use General Dodonna since you'd almost always be out-activated. Having Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight helps with his rerolls as well (and makes for a good support attacker). You should also consider adding some override.

GMLS 115
Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight 25
General Dodonna 9
R7 Astromech Droid 8

Which leaves about 43 points more for support attackers. You could always resort to uggies instead of an R7 though. Maybe 3x Antarian Rangers? Just a suggestion though.

Don't I need Disruptive?

Disruptive is good, so maybe throwing talon Karrde in there would be a good idea for it. But it can be hard to make him worth his points as he doesn't have much health and his damage output is so low. Another good suggestion may be cade skywalker, padawan as he can bring be a healer and bring Luke back from the dead if he gets killed. Antarian Rangers are decent shooters for their cost.

I tried this squad once at a tourney and it got me second-GMLS, Kyp Durron, Anakin Solo and a Felucian, General Wedge, and a Bespin Guard. The person who got first ran GMLS, Cade Padawan, Exceptional Jedi Apprentice, TBSV, and General Wedge. There's two options.

Kyp, Leia, and activations seem to be the best synergy for GMLS. Leia because Luke really needs his Lightsaber Defense to work - and the rerolls really help. Kyp because with FR1 he becomes really dangerous. Then the thing GMLS hurts you with the most is a lack of activations. Kyp, Leia, and possibly Gen Wedge (accurate, rerolling avoid defeat, and keep Kyp alive)... then ugnaughts, Dodonna, Rangers.

Something like...

115 GMLS
26 Kyp
23 Gen Wedge
12 Antarian Ranger
9 Dodonna
15 Ug Demo x5

10 Activations plus Dodonna means you won't automatically be out-activated every round. Kyp and GMLS are dangerous. Ranger and Wedge are decent support. You don't really need 5 Ug Demos, though. You could swap 1 or 2 for Rodian Brutes (for a slight attack upgrade) or Mouse Droids (possibly better defense, but no evade).

Where does TBSV stands for?

And what do you guys think of:

115 GMLS
26 Kyp Durron
9 Dodonna
10 Jagged Fel
23 General Wedge
8 R7
9 Uggies 3x

Only 9 activations, but a better shooter with Jagged Fel?

if you want a fun one:
GMLS 115
Kyle Katarn JBM 54
Rodian trader 10
7x Ugnaughts 21

Good times

TBSV is Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo from the Imperial Entanglements release. He grants Greater Mobile Attack to those who have Evade (most of the squad with General Wedge Antilles).

Felucians Anyone? They get parry and evade (with free rerolls), mobile force blast. GMLS becomes a beast in this set up. Dodonna is needed for tempo control with such low acts at 200.

--GMLS--
115 Grand Master Luke Skywalker
25 Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight
23 General Wedge Antilles
9 General Dodonna
21 Felucian x3
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

(199pts. 9 activations)

Unlimited Force Alter from a Human Force Adept could make it even harder to hit GMLS.

--GMLS and HFAs--
115 Grand Master Luke Skywalker
25 Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight
23 General Wedge Antilles
10 Human Force Adept
9 General Dodonna
8 R7 Astromech Droid
7 Felucian
3 Mouse Droid

(200pts. 8 activations)

I guess I am confused as to why you are spending 23 points to give two figures evade.

The best GMLS squad in 200 I have seen:

GMLS 115
Dash, RS 28
Leia, Jk 25
Dodonna 9
R7 astromech 8
3xugos 9
2xmice 6
200

If you want to be competitive with gmls ignore his CE, there aren't many usable figures in this format who get much mileage out of it.

My collection is small, and still growing, but for now I'll be building my squads around GMLS where I can since he's my strongest figure.

I think that's a decent idea based on your collection. You're already on your way to a decent Rebel push squad, too.

Here's mine....

http://www.bloomilk.com/squads/View.aspx?ID=39963

--Grand Master's Army--
115 Grand Master Luke Skywalker
23 General Wedge Antilles
20 Cade Skywalker, Padawan
24 Antarian Ranger x2
9 General Dodonna
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

(200pts. 9 activations)

Keep in mind that once Luke is killed, the squad will become a crutch.... it has weaknesses, therefore use the Antarians wisely and try to pick off weaker characters as much as you can... if not forced to check for legal targets, keep damaging them as much as you can before Luke comes in to clean the house

Luke needs to wait at least 2-4 turns to be aggressive

Sorry I don't quite understand some of you. Why should I play General Wedge if I play the combination GMLS with Leia Skywalker. They both won't benefit from his CE.

I think the felucian is a nice idea though. Just as I like Kyp Durron in combo with the earlier mentioned vigo. Thing is that I think that besides the low amount of activations the squad has 2 major problems:

Thrawn with a load of imps
Vong

Because of that I think disruptive should be in it. And it needs a good shooter. Or am I wrong?
And what do you think to put Han in (I know another expensive piece, but he got everything of what I think is needed)?

Use Wedge if you decide to go with a squad that has more followers like Kyp, Cade and Antarian Rangers. Disruptive would help but for the points you really ought to consider better support/secondary attackers. You should consider adding some non-melee attackers. Dash actually fits the role perfectly.

Regarding Vong squads. Unless other players in your area play Vong it really shouldn't be a problem. As long as your support has an able super-shooter you can take out the threat before it even gets too close to you.

The only squads I counter (we have only a playergroup of 2 persons): Vong with Zam Wessel; Thrawn/Vader Impies; Mando's with Boba; Sith with Naga Sadow, Aura Sing and darth Talon.

I'm trying to build a 200-point New Republic GMLS squad with my limited collection - could anyone make any recommendations based on my collection, or with as little added C and UC pieces as possible? Thanks!
