Dark Times 125-point Sealed Release Tournaments - Carbondale IL

There will be two different Dark Times sealed tournaments in Carbondale (Southern Illinois) in February, on Saturday the 6th, and Saturday the 13th.

Both events will be 125 point builds from two boosters, for $30 entry fee

Minimum of 3 rounds will be played (additional round(s) added as required to determine a clear winner).

Bring: DCI card/number, map, dice, damage markers/counters etc.

Updated DCI floor rules are in effect (minus the full/timed win scoring system)

Unless I hear otherwise, I assume the "Standard" map list will be used...as follows:

Rebel Storm Ultimate Missions Cloud City map (updated Organized Play version only)

Revenge of the Sith Ultimate Missions Throne Room map (AKA Star Wars Miniatures 2007 starter Imperial Base map)

Attack on Endor Commander's Office map (aka Ruined Base)

Attack on Endor Hall of Judgment map (aka Jedi Temple)

Attack on Endor Rancor Pen map

Rebel Storm Ultimate Missions Mos Eisley map (updated Organized Play version only)

Clone Strike Ultimate Missions Nightclub map
(treat windows as walls, high ledges as on the same level with the streets)

Revenge of the Sith starter Power Regulation Chamber map (aka Starship)

Excellent. I may be bringing a friend who does not have a DCI number. Does he need to apply online before showing up to the tourny?

Nope. He can fill out a card at the store and jump right in. BigGrin

Edit: Oops. For the thing on the 6th he might want to do it online just to be safe. You could e-mail Jim to see if he will have cards with him (or I can).

I wasn't able to make the one on the 6th because my daughter was in the hospital and my grandmother died. But barring anything else, I will most definitely be there on the 13th.

Any ideas on the projected numbers for this weekend? I am thinking about making the drive over there, but not if its just going to be 3 or 4 people. And what is the prize?

We had 15 players at the last one. Jim even played this time out. This one I'm not sure. I know my son and I can't make this one. Valentine's weekend plus my mother-in-law's birthday means I will be gone all day Saturday. I know Carl, Seth, David, and Matt are for sure going. I know there were some that could not make the last one either so hopefully they show. Scott said if there are at least 8 people he is throwing in a case of prize support and I think the half left over from the other tourney. So if 8 show there is going to be some nice prizes for them to share.

Carl, Seth, Matt, my son and I... I expect more, but I've sent an e-mail out to the group to get a better idea.

Hopefully we'll get at least 8. I still need 4 VR's to complete my set.

Same here. I've only pulled rares so far from the 3 boosters I've opened since getting a case. I need Ferus, Dass, Chewie and Bomo. Hoping to end up with one or more of them after the tourney...

Any update on numbers? It is a 2-hour drive for me and I'm not gonna go all the way over there if it's not going to happen. Scott has never seemed very appreciative of those of us who make the long-distance drive just to play a couple of games and give him money.

I think the count right now stands at eight.

Boris,

Six so far confirmed from here, then one "probably", a kid who sometimes brings another kid with him.

I have not received any negative responses yet (other than Mickey on here, and a couple folks at last week's event who don't play that often in general).

Don't know about Jim. I'd say we have a good shot at making the 8 players needed to have a case for prizes. It could easily turn into more like 12 players.

We will have the tourney even if it just the 6 confirmed, just means we won't get a full case for prizes.

I have:

Matt, Carl, Seth, Kristin, Anthony, myself, probably Jason (and maybe Aaron?).

Anybody else?

Sorry about that, I misread the email. Hopefully we'll get eight.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it over today. The wife wanted to go out for Valentine's today instead of tomorrow. I'm looking forward to Egyptian Campaign, or whatever it's being called these days! BigGrin
