I just want to be clear that I understand all aspects of the to squeezing rules. You can only squeeze one size category smaller correct? What does this do to your speed if you need to squeeze throught multiple squares? If you move across pit squares how much of your base needs to be on actual floor squares? Does that effect your movement speed also?

You actually squeeze as well when you go past pit squares. Pits, Walls, and enemy characters must all be squeezed past.
The act of squeezing does not impact your movement speed at all. Any rough terrain or low cover that you pass over does hinder your movement though. And, even if you're squeezing a Huge through a 2 square wide door, if there are cover squares on either side of the door, you would take the penalty while moving through those as well. You assume the full size of your piece except in the instantaneous spot where you are squeezing.
If that doesn't make total sense, I can try to do a diagram perhaps.

You do not squeeze when moving against enemy characters, only walls and pits.

I ought to review the Rulebook. My buddy and I have been counting double the movement when squeezing. Thought for sure you counted it double like going through difficult terrain or cover.

So a huge would not be able to squeeze through the 1 inch wide area with pits on each side on the death star map, Only a large base could. You also are not allowed to squeeze past squares that cost double right.

No, as a Huge needs a space 2 squares wide. You can only squeeze past impassable terrain (walls, pits).

Made sense since if you think logically when you squeeze throw something, you move slower. I could have sworn I read this in the rule book. I will need to relook this up because I have been playing it wrong too!

And that is because you are entering an enemies square. Now if the the Huge was a Basalisk War droid or any huge with flight, you would be able to go right past the enemy.
