if i get a 1 on an attack against emperor palpatine and use a force point to reroll my attack does my character still join the opposing squad

Remember that when you re-roll, it is as if the prior roll NEVER HAPPENED. :)

That's stupid, you shouldn't get to reroll, it should be immediate. I mean, you can't evade disintegration

But you can force alter the attack roll, thus preventing Disintegration from occuring if the new roll is not also a 20.

The resolving effects section of the FAQ will help show you that there are steps within steps of even immediate actions.

Rerolls negate the roll, otherwise rerolls are either ineffective or overpowered, depending on the situation. Force Alter affects Disentegration just like Rerolls affect Betrayal.

At a tournament a few months ago, I had GM Yoda roll a 1 against my Kreia and a 1 on the reroll. I won because of that. Talk about a happy day.
