There is little doubt that in a year, many of the prices for swm will drastically go down, w/ the end of the game (hopefully we can keep it alive) . I predict that the ones that will see the highest drop will be the minis that are great for playing the game, but don’t have the big “cool” factor, (general riekkan for example). There may even be a few minis that see an uptick in value b/c they have the “cool” factor, and w/ people desperate to get the ones they want to finish their collection (felcor and all the boba fetts). I know there are many who would disagree w/ me, but that’s my opinion.

And once they start creating V-sets you may see some prices go up.

FWIW, I bought stuff up in droves on eBay the first 10 or so days after the announcements. Dirt Cheap. They were so cheap that I used an intentionally incomplete sentence. I put in junk bids (ridiculously low just so I can see what it went for later) on 3 Kyle JBMs and won them all.

Now, prices seem to be going back UP. I'm kicking myself for not getting a boba merc for 14, now he's 18+. Same for VAU, he's up from those weeks in price as well. Saying we all know the prices will go down is neither true from the angles that we knwo it will happen nor that it will happen.

This isn't even an opinion, it's just wrong. Look at the SWCCG. Cards that were worthless from inception (especially the 2-player introductory box uniques) suddenly had a use and therefore demand from the many that still played the game. In fact, the fact that prices will be affected is one possibility that might lead to abuse by V-set designers. For example, one might buy up a ton of Vader DJ's and then sell for a profit after the alternate card of him as a beast is released. HOWEVER, from what I have seen with my interactions with the design team, I don't think that will happen. That part is opinion.

Look at EVIDENCE next time before spouting what can only be either lies or ignorance (I hope the latter). There is absolutely no substantiation of anyhting said in the post before this one, it's just a bunch of statements without any support. The SWCCG example proves the post wrong. I know usually we get into matters of opinion here, but in this case history speaks loud and true.

Being the last set produced by WotC, I'm interested to see if they take a conservative approach on the print run for MotF. If the scarcity were increased, it might be enough to keep the prices high despite a reduced demand pool. We'll know soon enough...

I don't mind being insulted. I'd rather be insulted and the issue not turn into a huge ordeal on here. I have been watching ebay prices on SWM. When the announcement was made there were floods of minis put up for sale. Just recently someone put up almost every VR starting at 99 cents per. I didn't watch them all to end but most of them were not being bid on.

How has D&D mini prices faired since its demise? I have been watching Mechwarrior clix prices because I have been trying to pick up a few for trying out the game since I'm a huge b'tech fan. A whole collection of 1000 pieces went for $250 which included the shipping. I know Heroclix went down when that game ended briefly. My cousin has several 1000 figs for that game and told me the prices had dropped off alot.

So I do have some "proof" albeit word of mouth and what I have witnessed on ebay.

As for v-sets. I'm glad you are excited about them. Personally I'm not. That's not meant as a bait. I'm also a collector so just having stats that go to existing figs is not very exciting to me.
