hey

I need to know what override specifically does.. at first I always thought you had to "see" if the door was open/closed to keep it open/closed (meaning, if they see a door is open, they can only override it to stay open)..but when I played a game with Ukezwoll (a pro player, BTW) I had a character adj. to a door and thus the door was opened. he moved his override character within LOS to the dor and declared to override it CLOOSED.

so, in short, can you override a door that's closed to be opened, and vise versa??

Yes, you can open or close a door regardless of its current state.

If you have Line of Sight to the door, you can declare it closed or open with Override. It doesn't matter if it was already Overriden open or closed, Override trumps Override.

Also , If a character with override such as Lobot sights a door open through another door that is held open by a character, and that character gets killed and the door closes. the door held open by override stays open even though the middle door is closed. That happened to me a while back contributing to a loss on my part.

Not sure if I fully understand your statement, but Override on a door ends after the character Overriding it has been defeated. That's part of it's definition:
"At the end of its turn, this character can designate one door that it can see as open or closed. The door remains open or closed until the end of this character’s next turn, or until the end of a turn in which this character is defeated. Other characters can’t open or close that door unless they use the Override special ability themselves. A door cannot be closed if a Large or larger creature straddles its gridline."

Yes that is true, Until the character is defeated, or until the end of this characters next turn, but lets just say that there was a door that was being held open by a character, and Lobot was overriding a door through the door being held open. If that middle door was closed, say when the character was defeated, and the door closed so that technically Lobot couldn't see the far door. That door Lobot originally Overrode would still be open . I think I'm Getting confused too. I wish I knew how to put in a diagram.

Basically if the Overrider loses LOS to the door it is overriding, the door remains overriden.

You could use Lobot to Override a door then Tow him out of harms way with R-2. I've had that done to me .

I get what you're saying now. I thought you were saying that Lobot was the one who was defeated and the Overriden door stayed open. You're saying Lobot isn't dead but say an Ug who was holding open a middle door was killed, thus blocking LoS from Lobot to the Overriden door. Didn't catch that at first, so it makes sense now. You are correct, the door would stay open until Lobot is defeated or ends his next turn.
