If Jar Jar was targeted by missiles(or anything in which bombad gungan is applicable) and Jar Jar made his save, could he redirect it to a chameleon droid that is within 6 squares, but not adjacent?

I just was Bombadd and my opponent effectively used Jar Jar with Gungan Shieldbearers and Yoda(CA reroll) He toasted my Mon- Mothma Squad. I hate BOMBAD GUNGAN! HAha
