If you're running GMLS, you NEED to use Leia. He falls like a sack of bricks if you can't roll every Lightsaber Defense and Djem So save twice. You definitely need to drop either Kyp or Ganner, but I really don't know which one.

Seriously, come up with a new name. It's quite annoying to watch all kinds of squads take a name someone gave to a specific build, for a completely different point level, format, and meta. Especially when it's not even the same Luke, or the same faction. Be a little more creative.

a) My mistake for confusing the name lobbing luke. This quote from another thread was the cause of my confusion:
"NR beats with Ganner will be played. I'd also expect to see copy cat squads, like Lobbin' Luke with 50pts added to it, as there are always those kinds of things."
After a little more research, I realize Lobbin' Luke is referring not to Ganner lobbing GMLS but to the Gen Con tourney winner with Commando Luke.
b) Please be a little more tactful. Calling a name as annoying and uncreative is not really constructive criticism. I didn't name the squad to offend you, fingersandteeth, or anyone else. I used what I thought was a standard name to avoid confusion but obviously caused more confusion. The squad has been renamed.

Although to be honest, this version with a mouse instead of the ugnaught looks like a lot more fun for casual play.

(200pts. 7 activations)
This would be the other variant I'd consider - low activations, but 2 extra support shooters. If you're right, though, about the necessity of Leia, the whole squad idea is a non-starter.

Thanks for changing the name. In general, I don't think you should spend points on the two ARs. Instead you need door control, and activations. 2 Ugos in a 7 act squad at 200 won't cut it for competitive play. If you are just playing this locally, then it could do ok. You don't need to use Dodonna, but either way, spent the 24pts on activations and door control, however you wish. And personally, I would have replaced Kyp, not Leia. Leia is close to Kyp in terms of actual dmg output, but Luke benefits exponentially from her. Leia has surprising offense, that most people ignore for the cost.
As for it being a "non-starter", I would instead call it an all or nothing build. Either Luke does it all by himself (which in some matchups he will), or you lose. Ganner and Leia can provide decent back up, but you better make sure Luke kills the big guys first. Against builds that can trash Luke, no support will help you. He's just too many points to allow any 200pt squad to win in those situations.

This just makes me wonder if Kyp's FP5 is playable at all in a competitive format. With renewal plus levitation to get him where he can use FP5, if he doesn't work here where would he work?

Well quite simply, his cost really doesn't include force push 5 at all, given the heavy restrictions. But that's ok, he's worth it whether you get a FP5 or not. Further, it's a good end of game killer, that yes, often hits him, but that's what you use it for, and only for. You can spend 10pts for Luke FS for him, but you will find that most people don't bother as there are generally better uses in the squad for the ghost. Now, one that would have merit, would be Zuckuss, Yoda and Kyp. You haunt Zuckuss for evade rerolls, attack rerolls with mettle, and for infinite anticipation. Then use Yoda's own FPs with Kyp for the FP5 should a good situation present itself. I've got a build like that somewhere, let me go find it. Edit - Here you go - just made it for you :) http://www.bloomilk.com/Squads/View.aspx?ID=81794

Thanks - still FP5 seems unlikely unless Kyp's already based, since he's most likely gone savage by that point. But I guess that's why you say he'll usually kill himself with it.
