I'm new on here, someone at the Wizard's official forums suggested visiting over here as well, with the star wars game being cancelled. Here's some pics from a papercraft 3D imperial starbase I assembled using pdf's someone made, and a couple of customised tiles and plastic scenery objects. The doors were designed as a doorframe that is hollow at the top, and door pieces that can then slide inside the frame. So, when a door 'opens', the door piece can be slid out to make an empty doorway :) I threw in a Rebel Troop Cart to be a 'hovering cargo palette'.
The pdf's with 3D Death Star Scenery and 3D Cloud City Scenery can be downloaded through links at the Wizards' website, at this post:
http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75862/23151741/Death_Star_3d_mapsI made the bridge over the shaft using the Shaft map tile that came with the original star wars miniatures box set, adding a small ledge jutting out from it in the middle, and a computer console for doing things like shutting down shield generators, or disabling tractor beams, etc.
I'm still adding low-cover objects, like small computer consoles, and sci-fi looking crates, that can be placed around the map to add to the scenery.
Anyway, here's some photos of my 3D level! I haven't browsed BlooMilk much yet. If there are any good threads with photos of other people's custom maps, in particular 3D maps, I'd love to see them too.
