if someone runs up and assaults leia Skywalker JK, can she force absorb it?
or are the force points for assault spent before the move action?

or are the force points for assault spent before the move action? They are spent when you are adjacent. The logic goes, that you spend the fps just before the action. In this case, a move and attack is a normal action. Assault replaces your attack. So you spend the point, just before you would normally make your attack. Leia can absorb it.

And even if you had MotF 2 you can't Assault again unless you're in a squad with Captain Tarpals. This is a misconception a few people have had with Darth Bane. I was in a Vassal game where the guy ran up Bane within 6 of someone with Force Defense and planned to do Rage first to get that hopefully Defensed and then do Assault yet they mistyped and did Assault first and wasted their turn.

Huh, hadn't thought of that. Then again, when this happened it was before I really paid attention to Resolving Effects so it would make sense that we never thought of it that way.

Could you explain a little better scott dont quite understand it? Is it because when you declare Sith Rage you begin your attack phase therefore cant use LSA now because your attack phase has begun. Like do you have to use LSA & declair it first, then comes the damage addition declair because LSA would start your Attack Phase? Just not 100% sure on how this resolving effect would work... lol & scott im not disagreeing with you buddy just wondering if you could explain it better

With the Resolving Effects you follow it numerically, so what Sithborg is saying is that the declaration of Lightsaber Assault is lower on the list than Sith Rage. I'm at work so I don't have access to the WotC website, but let's say that Lightsaber Assault is Step 4 and Sith Rage is Step 6. If you declare you are using Sith Rage, then you are now on Step 6. At that point there is no way to go back to Step 4 to declare Lightsaber Assault (or whatever Steps they really are). Once you pass a step you cannot go back.

Please actually read the Resolving Effects section of the FAQ. It should be fairly self explanatory.
