I'd think so. There's nothing in the FAQs or glossary texts that says you can't.

I looked but can't find anything, In the context of the game it seems you could but doesn't make sense in a real world sense

Yeah, well neither does an evading Golan turret, an opportunist-shooting Bacta Tank, or a Rancor getting cover from a Mouse Droid.

Just roll with it. Like this:
LOL

Very Interesting! Thank you Swinefield for finding that.

yes, initally when i was building lobbin' luke last year i was trying to abuse the diplomat ghost trick by having Leia organa senator and obi in the center. the only way to make it work 1st round was by levitating Obi 6 squares so he could move 10 1st round and be reasonably close to the center.

With anakin or yoda its now much easier to pull off.

Ya, I never saw the need to do that until it came up in a game and my opponent wanted to do that. I didn't benefit me but I thought that he should be able to do that according to the rules. He needed the Mettle and renewal for one of his characters. I thought that he was thinking outside the box. I like that.

RAW, rules as written, you might be able to do it. But in my opinion, this does not work with the spirit of the rules. It sounds like someone found a loophole, but in my games, I probably wouldn't allow it. Not that I have a spirit or a levitator...besides, what's the point? They aren't physical, so how's it going to help?

The Spirit of the rules don't matter. Only the letter. Light Spirit says nothing about not being affected by Force Powers/Special Abilities. Which is why Repulse can move/activate a Spirit, if not damaging it. Same with Levitation, as targetting rules do not apply to your own figures.
