This is a Yobuck Swap squad without Momentum.
I was wondering what your opinions are on this squad since I might be playing it for regionals.

--Yobuck Swap--
51 Yoda on Kybuck
35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter
33 Captain Rex
26 Jedi Weapon Master
23 Captain Panaka
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
8 Mas Amedda
3 Mouse Droid
6 Rodian Brute x2
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

(200pts. 12 activations)

Zuckuss can stick a big enemy in the back while Yobuck Gallops.
Rex is for extra range, and also is nasty when swapped with Yobuck to do 80 damage to commaders in the back.
The JWM is a tough piece for either to Assault some fodder, or tie down some shooter.

Please tell me what you think, friendly critism is welcome! Smile

This looks like a prettys decent squad, although you should be wary with the mediocre activation count and only two swap fodder. (swap fodder as in pieces you will swap in to die, as opposed to bringing in the JWM or Rex for an extra punch)

Other than that, it looks pretty good. One big threat, two medium threats, and Zuckie's tech support (like glueing an enemy disruptive piece). I'd have to play test it to look any deeper.

By the way, Uggie, will you be at the NJ regionals?

Thanks Lefties,
I know it's low on activations, and I do have the Brutes for swapper fodder in the event in which I want to swap out Rex or the JWM instead of Yobuck.
I just can't seem to get the Rebels to work for me, don't have all the right Imperial pieces, and I don't have Seps. So that leaves me with my Republic characters. And this was one of the best I've come up with so far.

I'am going to Kokomo IN regional.

Well, this squad is as good as any other (seeing the variety of squads that have won regionals this year) so just practice with it on Vassal, see what strategies with it work well, which don't, and what other squads to look out for. Get comfortable and familiar with it, and you could do very well with it.

But wait....why do you have a Mouse Droid in there? You could have an extra Rodian Brute in there instead, who would be much more useful.

The squad I won Racine with is pretty balanced. even vs Disruptive you can win. Do you not own Gen skywalker. That extra damage helps vs other squads a lot.

I like it. Practice is what will win you games more than anything, also practice against some of the matchups you will face that will help a lot too.

Zuckuss and Yobuck to me kind of serve the same purpose, Yobuck will get across the map make the enemy fight on their side of the map, while zuckuss keeps them from advancing as well. My Issue that ive always had with zuckuss is his damage output is 20 per round, which normally isnt a huge deal cause he will glue something, he will also need 11+ to stick anything with a 20D (the things you want to hit anyway). Granted he can reroll it but he gets 1 shot at glueing somethingand if he misses he is 35 points not well spent.

I Would suggest Ferus Olin in this build over the points you would spend on Zuckuss. You get 100 hp BG for Yoda, and a great closer with his DT.

I would also consider if someone were to run Lancer on you what you would do. Zuckuss would need a 16 to hit it, and you have no way of stopping it from getting across the map.

All that being said I like Zuckuss, but i dont think he fits with yoda all that well. Hope that helps.

I would suggest trying to squeeze a Rodian Diplomat in the squad. It could help to Gallop Yoda to some stealth Figures then swap with the Rodian then they will have to deal with Rex taking shots at them.ThumpUp

First, 12 activations is not very few for a Yobuck build at 200 points. It's pretty average. If you really want you can chump your opponent's fodder and kill their activation control general and then it's all even anyway.

I'm with Weeks in thinking that Zuckuss is not the best use of points. Like he said, 35 points for 20 damage a turn at best is a pretty hefty price to pay. Plus, think about how these games are gonna play out. You kill their fodder/generals/tech and get an early lead. Now they have to come at you. Zuckuss prevents them from coming at you. Do you even necessarily want that? How does pinning someone in place help you all that much with this squad? It'd be swell for the mirror match, and maybe nice to keep the speeder from running away or whatever, but those 35 points is enough for all kinds of sweet pieces that would dish out a lot more damage. I like Ferus Olin cause he keeps Yobuck alive, can put 80 damage on someone in a pinch, and if he betrays you can get his 27 points for your own self. You could also put in like Roron Corobb for the one-shot roar, UH Lobot for override and tech, or even 3 human bodyguards to ensure that Rex doesn't die. You could even go with Order 66 guys who Rex can give GMA or Jar-Jar or something more unorthodox.

This is what i consider the base Yobuck Squad if you are not running General Skywalker.

51 Yoda on Kybuck
33 Captain Rex
23 Captain Panaka
9 r2-d2 Astromech Droid
8 Mas Ameda

Thats 124 Points.

Now i posted this to say this. You can really add anything to this base and it will be good. Myself and Greentime both used this base and made the playoffs in our regional and we went 2 differant routes with it. What i will suggest is you find some way to protect rex and add in the beat of your choice. For the beat you can really use anything all your looking to do with it is to be able to deal the last 40-60 damage to a big target and also not die too fast, so use anything from Even Piell to Depa Billapa to Ferus Olin :).

With the non-General Skywalker yobuck builds its important to remember that yoda's job is also differant his job is to kill acts stick 20-40 damage on something then swap out. You can get the act lead fairly easy this way and basicly whither everything down so rex can kill whatever you need him to.

Back when Yodabuck came out I used Rex,Yodabuck and Boba Merc I did really well with it. So I dont know if he has a enough damage but what about the new Kit fisto and Darkwoman over JWM/Zuckuss. He can stay alive pretty long if you know how to use him. Or even the new Tiin,Shaak. A piece I do want to try out in those type of squads is Anakin CON.

What do you think about maybe adding some cheaper clones and Plo Koon JM. The clones will gain greater mobile and can take a shoot right before dying. Plus Plo Koon would not be a bad swap character. Gallop and then swap for 70 damage with oppurtunist?

Good suggestion, I forgot about Ferus's affinity.

I have him, I just can't seem to get the whole Momentum thing down.
