I should have thrown on "You're my only hope" to the topic title, but whatever.....
Around the time WotC ended thier run with minis I moved 450 miles away from anyone I knew that plays minis. I love the game, I wish it was still in production, but you gotta face reality. With little chance of my collection getting much use, is there any real reason to hold to it??? I mean as BLOOMILK goes I have just under 70% and close to $3000 worth of minis.... So do I sell it and move on??? Or do I hold on to them??? What would you do??? Remember I know of exactly ZERO people that play within a 450 mile radius of me!!!!

Hold on to the minis, make new friends, and introduce them to the game. They can play using your collection.

What EmporerDragon said. Figure out how much you want to store, though. You might decide you want a smaller playset in exchange for some cash.

Keep it. You never know when you can find another way to use them. I still have over 30,000 Magic cards and every so often I find a new format or draft to use them again. But I should also be on Hoarders.

When do you think the last time bloomilk prices were updated? Click on a link to find out. Since you would only get a fraction of value for your collection, I think another poster has a good idea. Find some other local gamers and play out of your collection.

I got excited about the game when someone gave me a Rebel Storm Starter kit. They didn't even know what they had gotten me and they just thought it looked good... and I didn't even really understand the game or even play it for two years! But, when I discovered the gem I actually had, I then got other folk into it... anyone I could find, really. Now I can count about 20-25 people that play and collect Star Wars Miniatures just because of me! (That's not a 'check-me-out' statment; rather more a 'look-what-you-can-do' statement) I've only played two games against people (both on Vassal) who I didn't get into the game!
I rule. You rule. We all scream for ice cream.

I would do this, 1 of 2 things...
#1 would be that if you still have hope the game will be picked up then hold onto them. Dont listen to people on here who are saying noone will pick the game up because none of them really know, anything can happen with the game being picked up, yea obviously it couldnt get picked up ever thats a possibility. But dont listen to the people who are saying it will never get picked up. Because alot of games in the past dropped from WOTC got picked up again eventually from someone else. Point Said
#2 is unless you need the money right now, i would hold onto them as long as possible because 10 years from now these mini's will be considered starwars memrobilia & everything starwars brand name gets worth money. But unless you need the money now then sell now. As others also said theres still ways you can play people & make ur own group.

Where did you move to? Check around and see if there is a local gaming store. Never know if a group does exist where you moved to. If not then get one going.

DONT get rid of them! It may seem like a good idea now, but 2,3,5 or 10 years form now you WILL regret it.

Be realistic. If theres absoulty no chance of converting anyone there to play, you may well offload the majority of your stuff except for the obivous icons. It frees up your money to chase another hobby local to your area. If you wish to get people into the game and is willing to help out at your local game store to premote it, then keep them.
Basically, if your like me and your not confortable to see it on the sheif doing nothing and there is no way of getting new friends into the game, then perhaps selling is the best idea, aside from the icon figures as their values may well increase.

CerousMutor and Wysten are both right. I'm keeping my whole collection, and even buying more. But I don't have more than 300 pieces. If I had $3000 worth of figures, I'd probably scale back due to number of live opponents. Whenever I find opponents (at this point mainly whenever my brother visits), we'll do a draft from my own collection. I don't need to have all of the most competitive pieces or 100 stormtroopers. But this game is awesome and 10 years from now if I want to play, I want to still have that option. I think you will too.
