I've got two Vong squads that I like, but need something:

--Vong War Party--
63 Warmaster Tsavong Lah
21 Yuuzhan Vong Shaper
60 Yuuzhan Vong Jedi Hunter x3
19 Yomin Carr
13 Gamorrean Bodyguard
8 R7 Astromech Droid
6 Mouse Droid x2
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

(199pts. 13 activations)

This one seems fun with all of the bonuses to attack and damage, but it lacks range support. Since I am a novice at Vong squads, I'm not even sure I need a ranged threat in a squad of this type. I'd have to sacrifice a Vong JH and some filler to fit one in, but would the Warmaster and two JHs be enough? I had a version where I tried to fit in Nom Anor to Ooglith the Shaper but it seemed a waste to spend that many points on a one shot 20 damage shooter. Then I thought of using a Czerka with Nom, but there is just not a whole lot of room with the Warmaster in there.

Should I just stand put without a ranged threat?

--Nom Vong--
35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter
34 Nom Anor
21 Yuuzhan Vong Shaper
60 Yuuzhan Vong Jedi Hunter x3
19 Yomin Carr
13 Czerka Scientist
8 R7 Astromech Droid
3 Mouse Droid
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

(199pts. 12 activations)

This one is more balanced with two ranged threats. Zuckuss can help Nom get off his twin Cunning, and can paste down something so the JHs can attack. The Shaper would get Ooglithed. The thing with with one is, do I need the R7 and are two JHs enough if I take one out to put something else in? That would be 28 points worth of something that could make the squad more effective.

Thanks in advance.

I love building and playing vong squads especially since they are such a tricky faction to play. The key with them is Nom, his CE and Ooglith is a game changer. Almost all the really good squads are based around him (for an easy mix try Cad Bane + Nom + Czerka). As for your squads the first one is pretty solid but you need to think like your enemy would. He will be gunning for your shaper and it's a hard piece to protect, the bodyguard will help a bit but you need to protect that piece with your life. I would drop out yomin for a medic or a rodian supply guy to turn your three pointers into healers for all your hp heavy pieces. All in all though it looks good. Let me know how it plays
