I just have to ask this, but what's your favorite and least favorite set?

favorite: COTF (first booster i ever bought and the coolest set that came out IMO)
least: either IE or ROTS. ROTS b/c of R2 astro AND the fact that about 90% of the characters in there were useless. IE b/c led to WAAAYYYY to much of a power jump/creep (rieekan, mice, palpy throne, vader LOTF, dash...too many for one single set...)

Favorite: Champions of the Force - So much fun stuff in one set! Least Favorite: Rebel Storm - Hey, I joined the game right after Dark Times came out, what reason do I have to own anything from that set? lol

Fav: Galaxy at War. Maybe I'm just partial to it as it's the only case I've ever bought ;) But seriously, it has heaps of really useful R/VR and it has the B3 and R7 plus the quad clones. It also reinvented the Separatists with GG,SotJ and Loathsom.
Least: Masters of the Force. Boring and lame, especially as the last set. We wanted Cassus Fett, new Jaina, Poggle the Lesser. We got Kit Fisto ( similar to the GaW one too), ANOTHER Rebel Han, another Lando, yet another Vader ( at least this one is something different), the billionth identical Windu, more Force Spirits for the Rebels, and to top it all off, Grievous and Lord Hoth were disappointing!

Favorite: Jedi Academy. Mainly because it was the only one I was around for when the release party came out. I just started playing a little over a year ago, and I only had a local play group for about 4 months.
Least favorite: Revenge of the Sith. I wasn't around for it, but looking back it looks like too much of a repeat of Clone Strike.

T.T four attacks wont do much if you cant hit anything with them.

Fav: Dark times: loved the variety and plus it helps to have the set to mess around with months before it was released.
Least: Clone Wars: Sure it had some fun VR's but the common/uncommon selection was mediocre at best

Favorite: Bounty Hunters- BH for lots of reasons, first it made bounty hunters truely the killers they are. RS didn't do the job. Second it made boba fett ( my Favorite Piece) truely the most deadly bounty hunter. Third it gave us the mandalorian fraction (Best fraction)
Least: Masters of the Force - One word discribes this set, disapointment. First it was are last set :( Plus the characters in it were garbage, grevious, nadd, hoth. Last it didn't give me the closer that i wanted from the last set. There were to many pieces i still wanted. Cassus Fett :(

Favorite Set: Not sure I really have a favorite, but I imagine KOTOR was one of the better sets. It was a huge shot in the arm for Old Republic, Mandos, and Sith and probably had the best percentage of actually usable C/UC figs for a variety of factions. No matter what you got in your booster, most of the pieces were playable with the right faction.
Least Favorite Set: TFU was by far the worst set in my opinion. It had a handful of truly awesome pieces that made me buy some of the set, but for the most part the C/UCs from the set were not really anything you'd want in multiples. With most C/UCs you can use extras as set dressing for RPGs or enemies/allies in RPGs or mass battles, but with TFU pieces you might use one or two in a squad and beyond that every other copy was pretty useless. And the Huges were, in my opinion, especially awful. Junk Golem, TIE Crawler, Knobby White Spider, Telosian Tank Droid -- nothing iconic, nothing that looked really cool, and nothing you'd want one of (let alone multiples of), yet you end up with a pile of if you try to buy enough TFU boosters to collect the set. When 4 of the 6 UC huges are so undersirable, it's a real problem for a Huge set. Sure, the Golan, Troop Cart, Uggernaught, ATST, Snowspeeder, and Rancor were all interesting and usable and just cool to have, but for every one of the R/VR huges you'd pull odds are you'd get 2-4 of the junky ones.

My favourite set is Dark Times. Partly because it was the first case I bought. Partly because it was the first set to be released after I had become active in the SWM community and could keep up to date with things (I am fairly sure Jedi Academy came out in the early months of me playing, but I didn't have a clue about it!) But Mostly because I love the minis in it. Dengar is awesome. Zuckuss BH is brilliant. And the VRs are all useful I think, apart from possibly Chewie. The UC/C range is also really good.
My least favourite set is probably Clone Strike. I have about 8 of the minis from that set and have little to no interest in collecting more of them, apart from possibly the Destroyer Droid.

I'm going to go old school and say Either Universe or COTF were my faves. Loved them both. My least probably was GAW

My Favorite -Legacy of the Force-I love the comics! Cade and the gang rock. I just wish Darth Krayt, Talon and Nihl had affinity for Imps since they commanded Stormies in the comic.
Least Favorite -Maters of the Force-after Dark Times which is a great set this one seems very bland. Also there was a lot of wholes that could have been filled that weren't.

My Favorite - That is a hard one because most the sets have good and bad minis. But I will have to go with KOTOR because I really liked the 2nd game and the comics. It gave us several characters from both.
Least Favorite - RotS because we had just gotten Clone Strike, and there were a lost reprints. The General Grievous, JH mini was just bad.

So ypour saying that for its point cost it would be a mini you would want. ALso think about how competative the piece is, it really isn't. My point was nadd should pf been a better character. He's ok yes, but he really isn't that great

For me, it's more about the characters and less about competitiveness since I use the figs for the RPG and collecting and rarely play the game. Because of that, the quality/selection of rares means the most, since that is most likely what I will get. With that, my favorite has been GaW because I'm a big Clone fan. DT is also great because all of the bounty hunters were in the rare slots. That was a good move. It also gave us some new, fun species.
I love the Dejarik in MotF because they added some great creatures for the RPG, but the rest of the character selection seemed pretty poor. I can understand, though, why others were disappointed with the Dejarik, especially since it was the last set.
As a whole, I preferred the 40 fig sets because it seemed like the rares were better. In the 60 fig sets, I always seemed to get the rares I had no interest in while the 40 fig sets had really desirable rares, often more desirable than the very rares. For someone who doesn't buy a lot of boosters and mostly trades and gets singles, this was fantastic. While some of the best individual figs came from those 60 fig sets, what I ended up with from those boosters never really seemed worth it.

Man, I got into this game at the Rebel Storm stage...a lot to reflect on.
Anyway, my favorite set is probably A & E, mostly because I've always really liked to play rebels, and that set produced a lot of new options (even though I dislike the square bases as much as everyone else does). My favorite newer set is probably GaW (which was the set for which I bought what will probably be my last case). I get very nostalgic about Rebel Storm and Universe in particular--my life was in a very different place, literally and metaphorically, five or six years ago, and some of those pieces bring back memories of some really good times with folks I don't see nearly as often as I'd like to these days.
My least favorite set almost has to be ROTS. Even at the time, I was like, what the heck is all this junk? Very little from that set holds up (other than R2, obviously).
