I read somewhere that Lightsaber sweep lets you attack adjacent characters, but the glossary says adjacent enemies. Is it characters ( allies included) or just enemies?

Why would you want to hit your own characters?

i dont think he was wanting to actualy hit his own characters he was wanting to know so he doesnt have to. Kind of like when you Use Repulse and there is an ally within the distance. It causes collateral Damage and he was hoping it didnt.

On the other hand, there are at least a couple reasons to kill your own people...

By the way, I know Lightsaber Sweep is one of the ways to attack Diplomats since it bypasses the targeting rules. Is there a list somewhere of all the ways to do that? Lightsaber Sweep, Repulse of various kinds, attacks of opportunity all come to mind. And damaging them with an area attack of any sort (e.g. grenades on an adjacent character). What else?

This is entirely incorrect. You cannot "target or attack a diplomat" when diplomat is in effect. LS does not target, but it is an attack, and you are not allowed to do so as per the definition of the ability.

Right you are. Thank you.

So that leaves Repulse and Painful Screech. Anything else?

Right. That goes along with any effect that damages adjacent characters - grenades, missiles, bigger Force Push, atlatl, cesta, flamethrower, etc.

or, arrow, a wonderfully useless Nute Gunray. You got reinforcements, and one reserve, so he paid for himself, so maris repulses him in a pit.

Don't underestimate Nute Gunray, He won one of this years major regionals.

Yeah, it was kind of creepy when he walked in. Everyone was pretty shocked because before then, everyone had assumed he was just a fictional character. But he came in, sat down, played a Skybuck squad, and won.

Nute Gunray playing Star Wars Miniatures makes you throw up in your mouth? Yeah, it is kind of sickening that he'd be a turncoat like that and play a Republic squad.

Do you really want to do that? Doing that is equal to giving your opponent 30 points

Depends on the situation, I guess. If you want to nix the attack and movement penalties, and you can afford the points, it could be a good trade-off.

I believe (?) it was Emperor Dragon who once referred to Nute thusly:

"A subtle piece that tells you exactly how to play him"

I read that as - play him in droid-heavy squads, they don't get the CE. Cool

Although I wish the CE also had an added phrase "Allied Neimoidian are not subject to this CE". That way I could play a species pure fun squad with no penalty. 8-(
