Hi. A friend and I are trying to put together a custom set and here is our start so far.

I would really appreciate some feedback as we are pretty new to the custom scene.

Thanks in advance! :)

To keep the cards as high res as possible, I have them in a flikr gallery here:

Haha dude! Thats awesome! I love almost every aspect of what you have done. The cards look beautiful and the stats are amazing. Im glad some one cares about the finer things in star wars like all the band geeks! If your not done yet and you dont mind I would love to help you brain storm ideas for stats and characters if you want. And here is the constructive criticism part.

Darth Vader, Bounty Hunter Commander:
First off I really dont like the name Glare also he reminds me stat wise a bit to much of the Darth Vader Legacy of the force. I know he is 70 points but his commander effect is just to strong to put a point value on in my opinion. Bounty hunters from movie 5 are all around 30 points so there pretty cheap and very good. Here you would be giving (using the stats of the very newest Bounty hunters) 4-lom 40 damage and possible of +22 attack. That also pumps dengar up to a possible of 60 damage and +20 attack. So I would way debuff that. Maybe something along the lines of they all gain an extra +1 when using bounty hunter, or they gain Grenades 10. Something along those lines.

Second: Just plain and simple I think R1 should have emplacement. If you even look at him he doesn't look to mobile. Also on the topic of droids your demolition droid should loose grenades 20 and get self destruct 30. Make him maybe 22 points, then with mines and self destruct hes the worst nightmare of a jedi squad. Hope this helps a bit! And to end on a good note.

I love your new ability 'Gamblers luck' defiantly adds what should be in to the game.

(Edit: Are you going to make minis for these? Drool )

Those are way cool. I think they might be costed too low, but still looks like a lot of fun

The musicians should have Melee. Other than that, these are freakin' awesome!

Thanks for the feedback!

I am going to take this all into account as we start playtesting on the set. I am making figures of all of them. I am customizing nearly a case worth of figs! We plan on doing sealed booster events once we are done. It's bee a lot of work but fun as well.

- R1 can move. From the wiki "The two meter tall droid moved about via a treaded unipod, which was slow and often malfunctioned," But perhaps I should give him Speed 4.

Aah yes ok. I have that exact figure (Micro Machines) and all it is is a flat base. No wheels. And do you mean you are going to be selling them in boosters? If so sign me up!

That version of Vader shouldn't have Force Sense. He couldn't sense the Falcon hanging off the side of the Star Destroyer, after all.

The Bith should have a "Bith" special ability - just in case something comes along later for the Bith.

Droopy McCool's speed is too high.

"No blasters!" seems really powerful - should probably move up the cost considerably.

The musicians in general seem too much like combatants. I kind of feel like they should be more tech, and give boosts to other people instead of each other.

The set overall looks great, btw. Very cool ideas in there.

Excellent feedback. I will work it into the playtesting stage.

I am not selling boosters. I just will have a "booster kit" that will be boxes of the custom cards and figures. Then we generate random contents of boosters (with dice rolls maybe) and then grab what figures we "pulled" from the kit. When we are done playing, it all goes back into the kit for our next "booster draft"

I am not selling anything. Sorry.

I really liked this set. Excellent work on the cards and on the box. I agree with what DarthBane said about Gamblers luck. I like that ability and it works really well for Han. Nice job again on the set and would love to see the figures when you get them done.

I love it! Here is what I reckon:

I love Vader's CE limiting Boba but helping him too.
Sy Snootles' CE needs the word 'gain' between squares and disruptive.
How is Max Rebo going to Parry anything?
Gambler's Luck is much better than WotC's idea of giving Han a force point. Thanks for that :)
I love the bartender. Brilliant abilities :)

Max Rebo's "Parry" is really just him using the keyboard/organ to duck under or behind or just run around to avoid getting hit. There might be a better way to represent this, but I figure with the large instrument in the way, he deserves some additional defense.

I am still gathering figs for mods and proxies so I can start some playtesting. If anyone has good ideas about how to mod any of the following figures or what would make the best proxy, I'd love to hear it.
-Generic Hutt figures
-Rancor Keeper
-Chalmun’s Cantina Bartender
-R1-Series Astromech
-Sith Probe Droid

Sweet. Can you share where you got them or did you mod them? If the answer is "mod" I would love to know what the pieces were.

Very cool. I was looking at maybe getting a set or two of these as they also contain a really nice LIN Demolitionmech droid, which I also did stats for. In the end I decided I could find the parts cheaper for the LIN droid and make my own from scratch.

That R1 is great for the head but everything beneath that is quite different in the movie. Perhaps I will get a set just for the head.

Thanks for the info.

I spent several hours at the local game store digging through the singles bins and I think I may have found a decent Rancor Keeper. I can say for sure once he goes under the knife (and glue).

Okay I se what you mean about the R1. As for the rancor man theres one figure that comes to mind. Its a D&D mini called 'Half-orc executioner' everything looks like him except for the fact he has a hood on. You might wanna check that out too.

The Half-Orc Executioner is blasted close. Wow! I wish I had found a few of those in the singles bin. I did find a bunch of this guy though - Degenerate Cultist of Orcus. It shouldn't be too much work to make him into the Keeper.

Only a week to go until The Max Rebo Band pre-release event (100 point constructed with 2 boosters)!

I have been modding like crazy and have nearly all the rares and super rares done. Its taking much longer than I thought and there is no way I will get all the commons and uncommons finished too. Oh well, that is what the proxies are good for.

Here is a shot of my progress so far:
