With galloping attack, if you use it, do you have to use it on everyone, or can you use it whenever you want on whatever enemy you choose?

Attached to this: why does it trigger attacks of opportunity? wouldn't yobuck be decimated?

1. Gallopping Attacks are optional.
2. Yoda on Kybuck provokes AoOs because he does not have Flight.

Most people use YoBuck to whittle down the 20 HP pieces, but also it only provokes AoO if he moves out of their squad. So if he moved adjacent to 3 enemies lined in a row, he's get his Galloping against all 3 and if he hasn't moved too far he can use his normal attack against 1 of the 3 as well.

Other Questions:
Does Yoda have to declare all his movement before moving ?
And during gallopoing attacks, could Yoda occuped a square just occuped by an defeated ennemy ?

I remember for Luke's snowspeeder, we have to say where LS should finished its movement at the beginnig of the movement.

It is only with Strafe that you have to declare the stopping point.
After an enemy is defeated and removed from the board, Yoda can move into that space, since it is now unoccupied.

This confuses me, because Strafe is worded similar (if not the same) as Galloping Attack.
I played in a tournament where I HAD to Strafe every Character within the Lancers movement. I was told that even in the text where it says 'can' (optional), its not optional. If this is the case, I was seriously mislead.

When you find something similar or the same as this in Galloping Attack let us know:

...instead of using the targeting rules.

Strafe was ruled correctly in your tourney. You can use the ability or not on a move, but if you use it you attack each enemy whose space you enter (just prior to entering.)

Gallop is very different even though there are some superficial similarities about generating multiple attacks during movement.

The Glossary and FAQ make it quite clear that the two abilities work very different. I suggest you read them.

Thank you Nickname, you made it make more sense for me.
@Sithborg.
Read the Glossary definition for Strafe and Gallop, if you notice, the only words that are Different (other then the added +4 for Gallop) are Strafe and Gallop, just switched.
Thank you for your advice, but maybe it would be best if next time you kindly broke it down.

Galloping Attack - As this character moves, it can attack each adjacent enemy; it gets a +4 bonus to Attack when doing so. It must move at least 1 square before making an attack. Roll each attack when this character is adjacent to that enemy. This character cannot attack any enemy twice when using Galloping Attack, and it cannot move into a space it has just left. It still provokes attacks of opportunity as it moves. The character can still make a normal attack on the turn it moves, as long as it moves its speed or less.

Strafe Attack - Some characters with Flight also have Strafe Attack. This character can move up to double speed and attack each enemy whose space it enters instead of using the targeting rules. Roll each attack just before this character enters that enemy’s space. This character cannot attack any enemy twice in the same turn using Strafe Attack, and it cannot move directly back into a space it has just left. A character with Strafe Attack can still make a normal attack on the turn it moves, as long as it moves its speed or less. Prior to using Strafe Attack, this character must designate a legal space to end its move in. Other characters cannot enter this space while this character is using Strafe Attack.

Perhaps you are the one who is mistaken, and next time someone tells you to "kindly" read the glossary, you might actually do so.

To make it easier, I've highlighted the relevant difference between the two. The word "glossary" by the way, refers to a very specific part of the rulebook. I believe you were reading the text of the card, which is not the same thing. My guess is you are confused because you didn't consult the rulebook glossary at all, but instead simply clicked on the abilities here on bloomilk, and didn't read the second part of each ability, under the word, "Glossary".

on a related note, could (if using a lancer) strafe people 2 squares away, because they treat people 2 squares away as adjacent (part of melee reach)?

A Strafe attack is only triggered when you declare you are entering the enemy square which is never going to happen in a case where Melee Reach would have an effect.

(Does the Lancer really have MR2? If so, I honestly never noticed...Blink )

All sources I refer to can be found on the Rules Links sticky. That is what I use when I make an answer. Bloomilk and the Archive are handy reference tools, but are not THE source for rules issues.

I will not always spoon feed the answers to you, especially when it appears that you have not read the full definations or the rulebook. It is one thing to want an explanation of an answer, but telling me how to answer is the best way to not get one.
