OK ive been thinking about this idea for a while--let me know what you think! Sealed Format
Point Cost: 100, 150, or 200 Faction Rules are OFF Ok, so i know with all these target sales going on a ton of boosters are being bought--and about 50-80% of the minis I (or you) pull are probably useless...and thus, dont open them (leave them in their bag). Anyways, I've hoarded all my unopened U/C minis in a HUGE box--there's like 200 minis AT LEAST in there. Now, here's what you do: 1) Take all your unopened minis (V/R included) and put them all in a box. Make sure you have all the cards that go to each figure in the box. 2) Get some friends together! 3) *OPTIONAL* Each player brings 2 random boosters of his/her choice...opens them, and (hopefully) without looking, add all the minis in the box. 4) Take turns choosing (without looking) one random miniature in the box. Each player takes turns taking minis until he/she has 20-30 minis in his/her arsenal (you may choose how many total minis each character chooses). Remeber to give out the cards that go to each figure thats been pulled, lol. 5) Players pair up and play each other; creating from the minis they got an open faction squad that could be 100, 150, or 200 point cost total. 6) *OPTIONAL* Players keep the minis they "pulled" from the box! LMK what you guys think!

I did something similar to this with my friend recently. I had just bought 3 JA boosters a couple of days earlier, and hadn't opened any, so we decided to take 7 minis each randomly. No one got GMLS, but he got both Kol and K'Kruhk >:(

Obviously the point of doing something like this is for everyone involved to have fun. But someone is bound to have all their pulls be stormtroopers, or soemthign equally cruddy when unboosted, while another person is going to pull half the R/VR pieces, which leaves the cruddy puller, sometimes anyway, with a 'this is a stupid idea!' attitude.

A while back, my son and I had just opened all of the case we bought (GAW I think), and then kicked ourselves for not doing sealed matches with it.
Our solution was to sleeve up all the cards, separate them by rarity, and then randomly sort them into piles to represent boosters. ( Cx4, UCx2, and 1 VR/R )
Then we just pulled two piles of cards each, built squads and went at it.
Seems like that could work for the big box of minis idea. It does take some work to sleeve all the cards (using opaque/colored sleeves of course ).

If you dont have the sleeves, you could just do the piles, and then roll a die to figure out who gets which stack.
Good idea, Dave. Might have to try that out myself.

Good idea, Dave. Might have to try that out myself. True, you could just do the piles without sleeves. We wanted it to be as blind as possible (so we wouldn't know which piles the good uniques went into ;)

hmmm...i see. many good ideas out there! :) as for the "big box" idea, maybe seperate the V/R into another box, and the U/C into a seperate box. then pull maybe like twice or three times inthe V/R box and a lot of times in the U/C...lol
