What are the best direct counters to Slow Cannon squads? The kind of squad I'm thinking of is 150 or 200 points and includes: - Luke Rebel Commando - Han Smuggler - General Crix Madine - General Dodonna - General Rieekan - an Elite Rebel Commando or two
What are squads that would be able to do well against this without having to be able to beat other gate keeper squads?
Some of my guesses are Kyle/Mara with evade? Lancers? GOWK? Yobuck? A big, scary Vader? I'm also wondering if a towed Kota-bomb would be effective, given that most of the individual pieces have pretty low hit points?

First off, that's not Slow Cannon. Slow Cannon was a 150 point squad with Luke's Snowspeeder, Han Smuggler, Princess Leia, and Dodonna.
Lancer can give it some trouble, but is certainly beatable with good placement and a Kel Dor. Yobuck squads can certainly beat it, but the key there is NOT playing it how most people play Yobuck. Pretty much, you can't leave Yobuck anywhere near the back field. Run in, put some damage on things or maybe even kill something, then swap out! If you leave Yobuck anywhere even close to Madine, he's going to get trapped back there, and he's going to die.
I wouldn't bet on GOWK. If the Rebel player is playing my version (what won Gencon this year), you bring the 14 Mouse Droids and use them to block. If GOWK does get close, Rieekan is giving the Rebels Recon, and on a won Init Luke drops 80 damage on him.
I beat a few Kyle/Mara squads with it at Gencon. Problem there is that you've got a melee heavy squad, and I've got Disruptive, too. The 14 Mouse Droids block again, and when you advance you get into Disruptive, and then both Kyle and Mara go down pretty quickly.
A big Vader (like a Lord Vader swap squad) has a lot of trouble with it. That's what the championship game was this year. Being able to get 25 activations with Dodonna makes Vader swaps very tough to pull off.
I don't see a Kota-bomb squad working to be honest. You're right in that it would do a lot of damage to the squad, but it has at least triple override, with up to 5 override pieces. With that much door control you'll have a tough time getting Kota in there, let alone where you want him.
Honestly, Lancer is the worst match for that Rebel team. Engineer's super high activation Nute Gunray squad could give it some trouble, since a lot of the squad's power is having high activations. The best way to beat it, though, is to capitalize on your opponent's mistakes. It's a very hard squad to play to be honest, because as you pointed out, there are very few hit points to go around. It's not forgiving at all. If you make a mistake you can lose the game very quickly.
Keep in mind that all of the above is mostly thinking about my version of the squad.

Thanks.
What's the official name for the squad - I'll edit the subject so I don't confuse people.

Your looking at either outacting or killing lots of 10hp guys very fast as your answer to how to beat it. Most squads if they are played well enough can do well against it but not all. Echo's version as he said packed ungodly amounts of acts so if you dont have a way to get acts down fast you are going to end up reciting the stats for mice and uggies all day.

The problem is that to kill lots of acts you are playing either Yobuck, Lancer, or Arica. Against Yobuck and Lancer, I don't need the extra acts, so I don't bring in the 10 mouse droids. Against Arica, if I need them to out-act I bring them in and just play them carefully so you don't get a BB, or I don't bring all the mice. So pretty much if you CAN kill lots of 10 HP pieces, I just don't have Lobot bring them in. That's one of the great things about the squad. And I don't think I've ever played Ugnaughts in that squad. I named my version Smug Commandos, because I call most squads with Han Smuggler "Smug _______" (because of my tendancy to call him "Smug Han"), and other than Han it's mostly a standard Commando squad. Also, I'm bad at thinking up names for squads, lol. The squad type in general is a Han Cannon squad, or Smuggler Cannon if you're specifically talking about using Han Smuggler.
