I'll make this short, simple, and to the point.
Has anyone heard any info of wizards picking miniatures up again.

Wizards will not be continuing Star Wars Miniatures. There is a Russian company that purchased the license but they haven't announced anything or done anything with it yet.
In the meantime, the folks over at SWMGamers.com are in the process of producing a Virtual Set whereby they will be creating new cards, to be printed out and used at Gamers-sanctioned events. The first Virtual Set is called Destiny of the Force and will be released on December 1st. Go check out their site for more info!

A respectable member of the community has actually talked to one of the guys who bought the license, which is the Russian based company. Granted, it was apparently mainly for the RPG, so we will see what happens. The new Wizkids possibly still has the license that allowed them to make their constructible game. WOTC is DONE with Star Wars. They are focusing on their "core" brands, or stuff they don't have to pay licensing fees for. Don't expect them to get back into it, since it is a foolish hope.

Man i guess i was getting false hope when Greg Yahn said, "You never know when we may circle back again!"
I hope the Russian company takes good care of the title.
In Soviet Russia star wars miniatures plays you.

It isnt sad trapped.
The fact there is nothing to report at this time. Sometimes companies get a license with intentions of producing something. Other times it is bought to prevent anyone else from making something (see Wotc taking Deciphers license so no card game could get near Magic numbers)
I know who got this information. He has kept quiet about it because we are int he process of trying to find out if anything is going to be done.
There is also some people attempting to contact LFL to see if they will split the license apart. Some people are asking that LFL consider either separating the RPG from minis or they seperate metal minis from plastic minis.
So at this point there is nothing to say. If there was something to say trust me it would announced by someone.

The fact that nothing has been announced doesn't give me much reason to hope anything is coming out any time soon.

This allegedly "respectable member" is me. The reason I haven't discussed the details of my conversation with this man who claimed to have procured the license for his company in Russia is because he has not replied to any of my e-mails nor has he called me (even though he took down my phone number).
Additionally, an announcement was supposedly coming out of Celebration V, and that didn't happen, either - that I am aware of, anyway.

I’ve bought the rights to Star Wars minis.
The first set titled ‘The Rise of Dengar” will be released next month. It’s a 60 piece set, 50 of which are incarnations of Dengar.
I’m not joking.
