Star Wars Miniatures has always been, at its heart, a drinking game.

This time last year my collection was hovering around 55% complete. Thanks to a bulk purchase and a lot of trading I have now broken the 80% complete mark... witch is exciting and discouraging at the same time. I am glad that I have gotten the bulk of the minis, but I am getting to the point where a lot of the pieces I need are in the 40 USD range and that is a lot of trading...

For those that have reached this point what have you found the best route to achieving 100% (excluding Rebels and Imperials and Starship Battles)?

Doubt I'll be getting anywhere near 80% for a long time. I got into the game just as Dark Times was released, and so my prospects of finding any product before The Force Unleashed without spending an arm and a leg are very slim. It's unfortunate, but I'll end up getting all the useful stuff from those sets anyways.

Sad That is not what I wanted to hear... I guess I will have to get as far as I can by trading and wait for the finances to get better.

I am reminded of a book i read call red paperclip. The guy involved decided he wanted to try and trade his way up from a paperclip to a house. By gradually increasing the value, and publicity tbh, he got himself the house. It might be your only option for now!

I'm down to the last 10% (or so) and I just ask for the expensive characters on Christmas and Birthday lists. Wink

I just within the last week hit 85% complete. When the Target sale started I snatched up a bunch of them. After getting quite a few duplicates I stopped buying booster and I worked up several trades plus started buying singles from people here on bloomilk. Which is most likely what I'll continue doing until I hit 100% After that who know I'll probably go back to buying boosters. We are getting into mass battle's so I'll trade R's and VR's for Army builders. ThumpUp
