Hello to everyone, I am announcing that I am in the process of developing a Star War Miniatures Computer Game. The first version of the game will include the Rebel Storm and Clone Strike complete sets and their respective maps. Later versions will include the other complete sets and maps as well. Also, scenarios will be added from the Ultimate Missions books as well as from the Star Wars Minis website too. I would like a little help though... There are a few things I need: I already have the complete stats for the entire SWM sets. If anyone has scans of any of the maps, that are good quality, would you please send them to me? Here is a list of all of the official maps: http://the-holocron.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=98&Itemid=46It will be released for both Windows and Mac and will later support multiplayer. If anyone has any scans of maps or knows where I can get them, that would be awesome. Even it is just scans of sections of the maps, I can put them together on the computer. Thats the whole story, If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, or wants to help out, let me know.

How would this be different from Vassal? Pretty much all of the maps can be found there.

Sounds like an awesome idea that I had dreamed of before I heard of Vassal. I think they would both have their place, but I've personally always wanted a game where it actually follows the rules and has the stats, etc. Good on ya mate!

Thank you! Always thought that SW Minis could be made into a computer game. Vassal is great, but a bit dated. Pls keep us updated as to your efforts.

Here's a dream... you play the game. After the game, a 3D animation (complete with blaster bolts, lightsabers flying, an accurate map, and animations for Force Push) replays the whole skirmish that you just played in about 60 seconds.

Nothing personal, but I'm not holding my breath on this being completed. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope this works, I think Vassal is overly complicated and I have a short temper when machines dont do what they are supposed too.

If you're going to do this, I'd recommend supporting multiplayer from the start. It's 1000000x easier than trying to program AI for SWM...

Total unknown poster who has the skills to program a Vassal like game? While it is being taken with a bucketfull of salt, it's still a good pipe dream.

Sounds like fun! Go for it. Even if you find entering all the data for all the sets too daunting, at least the original sets you mentioned would be fun.

Entering the data would be easy. The challenge is to program all the rules interactions as new abilities were introduced with new sets.
