Okay, so here's how i picture this.
Set up: Each player sets up their squad in their normal starting area. Also in their normal starting area, mark one square to be where their flag would be. that square is now the flag square. The only squad restriction is that any character that allows two characters to switch positions may not be used.
Rules: To win the match, you must capture the enemy flag and return it 3 times. In order to capture the enemy flag, you must also have you flag in it's original position as well in order to actually capture it. So how to you go about getting the flag back when it's been captured then? You must defeat the character that has it of course. Now about being defeated. Instead of being out for the rest of the game, he/she/it is simply eliminated for 2 rounds, then he may be put back in the starting area at full health.
What do you think?

In many capture the flag games, Characters with flight have a distinct advantage. We always make the rule that once the character with flight obtains the flag, He loses the flight ability. Sometimes we also have 2 flags. One in the center of the board for capture and one at ones home base. you must have both to win. That forces you to defend your own flag from incoming enemy forces. Also, We We play a version that once the flag carrier is killed The flag drops and whoever gets next to it picks up the flag which is pretty standard. If the flag gets Grenaded (or missiled, ect.) It goes back to the starting point. The game still lasts a while but not too long. Characters with movement breaker lose the extra speed(Because the flag is heavy). I Love Capture the flag. We've even played 6 player Capture the Flag.
