So here's a quick question. What do you suppose is the cheapest prop/costume/anything you could buy that was something that actually appeared on screen in a Star Wars movie. I'm sure an original Darth Vader helmet from the film isn't available - but what about a mug from the cantina. Or the pitcher that held the Bloo Milk. Or... whatever.

I'd imagine it'd be parts of the assorted Rebel trooper/pilot costumes. Mundane things like mugs and pitchers wouldn't be sold as they get re-purposed many times over.

It is not uncommon to overhear at the old game store, the store picked up a Magic collection for $20,000. What SWM collection is worth 20K?!!! That would be one hell of an inventory.

This guy is just crazy! My uncle does stuff like this, and they are made out of scarp metal and as far as I saw the guy who made it wasent any famous artist. Probably cost him under 200$.

At $40 each, 500 A'Sharad Hett's
At $33 each, 606 CS Destroyer Droids
At $10 each, 2000 mouse droids

hmm

Magic has a totally different stracture than SWM ever did, which has driven up the prices of select cards, for example while its currently in standard Jace, the Mind Sculptor is currenly being sold for anywhere from 50 and over 100 dollars, but its expected to drop a little when it rotates out. However since nothing roates out of SWM,prices on singles for the most part are fixed.*

Theres a reason why MTG is jokingly refered to as "Magic The investment"

*Note my views on SWM singles' prices maybe incorrect since i don't buy singles, only booster packs

Also one big thing that drives Magic prices up is that individual cards are both harder to obtain and you need multiples of a card for it to be of any use.

compared to:

79.00 being offered for JtMS
$450.00-Aestral Recall
$900.00-Black lotus
470.00-Mox Sapphire
$1200.00 - Black Lotus Beta

Along with a number of others, its quite possibly to get to that number with just singles....

Along with the number of players who play the game, demand does indeed drive up the prices, along iwth the notion of how powerfull a card might be

EDIT: i can see in 5 to 8 years the price and value of some SWM singles going up to twice thrie current price...
