I think I already know the answer to this, but I'm just checking for cheese.
If Admiral Pellaeon comes in via Reserves, does his CE trigger and allow you to switch out a commander mid-game?

whose reserves would he be coming into play from? Ozzels reserves are for non uniques. His card says at the beginning of the Skirmish, and if you brought him Via reserves, I would assume the answer is no because he wasn't brought into play at the beginning of the game. Im no expert though. Im curious about this too.

Ozzel's Reserves is for non-uniques? I never noticed that....maybe its because for some reason I've never gotten reserves with Ozzel.
Oh well. If there's ever a piece with Imperial Reinforcements, this might make an interesting discussion. Pellaeon's usefulness would skyrocket if there was ever such a piece made.

With Reinforcements, you could bring in a free Palleon at the beginning of the game, so his CE wouldnt be an issue like it is with reserves. His Usefulness, to me, lies in his Ysalimiri. His CE is Ok, it would go well with a Palpatine order 66 squad I think.

Sometimes its extremely useful, like against a Force Push squad, and other times its more than useless, like against Vong.

Storm Trooper 1 -"hey, these little yellow weird kitty Cat things are kinda cool.'
Storm Trooper 2-"Yea, they're called Ysalimiri, or something like that. Its meant to ward those pesky Force users at bay....well out of range any way."
Storm Trooper 1-"Cool, Cool. HEY!! Whats that Guy Doing over there!? Hes 7 squares away and it looks like*......." (Smashes up against the back wall)
Storm trooper 2-"That? That would be force push 4. Yea, I know, it sux, but these little kitties are still cute."

So bringing Rex in with Palps would make Rex an Imp for purposes of Palleons CE?

No, but you could swap out Palps for a Vader and have a Vader swap squad with Rex in it.

Ahh, I see. Which Vader are people using for that? Is Pallaeons CE optional or must you swap?

Ummm...you know Ysalamiri grants Force immunity right? Cause from this story it seems that you don't, as figures standing in the bubble can not be affected by FP's.

Well, as long as the stormies are within the bubble of the cute kitty cat, force push 4 shall bother them not. They do get force immunity from the ysalimiri.

I expect most people to use Vader, SotJ just to keep the point loss to a minimum. However, I can see people bringing in Vader, CotS or Vader UL. It all depends what they are trying to do in their squad. For your second question, it is optional. I know of some people that will use Pallaeon just for the ysalimiri so that Thrawn's swap and Opprotunist won't get cancelled by Bastilla. Sincerely, Jester007

I guess which ever the Vader it is it would need to be better than Palps or why bother with the swap??

The mail reason palpatine is useful is because Rex (and some other Clone Commanders) are extremely powerful in Imperial squads. With Extra Attack (from Imperial Governor Tarkin) and Opportunist, Rex can do 180 damage. Pellaeon would be used to bring in Rex via Palpatine, then exchange Palpatine for the more combat-savvy Vader.

I've played order 66 squads before. I was more curious about which Vader would be better than Palps at 62 pts or less. Cause as you know, timed correctly, Palps can be a beast himself.

Usually when you bring in Rex you also have Governor Tarkin, who would give extra attack to Palpatine Sith Lord, but not Vader Scourge/Unleashed. Really, I'm having a difficult time finding a decent use for Pellaeon. It seems the best swaps with him are Emperor Palpatine on Throne > Arica and Grand Moff Tarkin > Admiral Ozzel.
