Hey everybody. This is actually my first post here on bloomilk and wanted to get some feedback on a couple squads I am considering running for my local SWM league. This week's theme is to use only Force Users in our builds. Normal faction rules apply. 200 point limit. Here are the two options I have put together so far: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/101006/republic-force-users-onlyhttp://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/101009/imperial-force-users-onlyI am leaning heavily toward the Imperial option. The Emperor Palpatine on Throne Force battery should be a huge benefit for Darth Vader LOTF and VAU. In addition to the Force battery I love the strength of being able to attack at a range beyond 6 spaces with both Zuckuss and DVLOTF's Force Grip (sight). I doubt I will face many shooters so DVLOTF should be really tough to take out. I think the Republic option would also fare pretty well although Grand Master Yoda would provide my only ranged attack (beyond 6) with his Lightsaber Throw. However Yoda and GOWK should have some staying power. One of the biggest strengths (I think it is anyway) is that if I can keep Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Master close to Yoda I will get a +7 attack / +7 defense via the GMY and GOWK CE's. Attacking with a +21 isn't too shabby and would allow me to do some decent damage early before being defeated and yielding the 6 FP's to one of my remaining characters. I do have some other character options as well. Zuckuss, BH could be swapped in straight up for the QGJJM in the Republic squad. I could also use Jarael in either squad but w/o commander effects to beef up her damage output I'm a little hesitant to go that route. I have Erica, an Imperial Inquisitor and an Imperial Sovereign Protector who could work in an Imperial squad but I prefer my current options. Now if I only had Darth Vader Unleashed.........

Yoda and GOWKs CEs wont stack, you will only get the +4.

Interesting idea for a league....
Your Imperial squad looks spot on!
In Republic I would go:
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi General Grand Master Yoda Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Master Dass Jennir Logray
That's exactly 200 points and should be pretty good I think :)

Giving VAU extra attack feels like a bit of a waste because you can just auto damage with lightning the whole time as he is backed up by Thronepalps. Arica goes nicely with Pottypalps.

try to get non-melee pieces in your squad. most force only squads are melee heavy, if you can hit from range you'll have an advantage

Thanks for the heads up on that Big D. I am still a newcomer to SWM and didn't catch that. @wannabee mexican: You're right, my attacks with VAU would predominantly be with Force Lightning. Zuckuss was the one who I would see the most benefit from extra attack with so his Snare Rifle has a better chance to hit at the beggining of rounds and then I would let VAU and DVLOTF clean up. That being said I am considering foregoing the extra attack route and picking up a Darth Vader, Unleashed to use with this squad. Adding Force Grip 4 to this ensemble would be brutal in and of itself but in addition I could drop Logray and add in Arica. Darth O wrote:Interesting idea for a league....

That's exactly 200 points and should be pretty good I think :) Thanks Darth O. It's a weekly league run by Chargers here on bloomilk and it's a lot of fun. My son and I just got into SWM recently and have only been going for the past month or so. As an example, next weeks theme is called: "Ancient Weapons are no Match" and again we will have a 200 point limit but instead of all force users we can have no force users. The following week we have a 250 point limit but all figures must be Unique. The week after that is entitled: "Fabulous Five" where we have a 200 point limit but our squad must be comprised of exactly 5 figures. Last week was a 150 point regular game. With all the different themes it makes you change things up and use a different squad pretty much every week.

I would either get rid of Yoda Or GOWK, and bring in Dark Woman and Dash. Light Tutor Dash so he too has a force rating, and when Qui is Gon, give him the FPs so he has Master of the Force 2.

I actually don't have the Dark Woman yet (that soon may change) so it's kind of a moot point at the moment. Even if I had her I probably wouldn't do it this week just because it would kind of feel like doing an end-around on this week's theme. jak wrote:my 1st idea;
fliobi cade stuckus barriss offee JK felucian OK, since I am a noob to SWM I am still figuring out some of the common terminology and character abbreviations. Stuckuss refers to Zuckus, Bounty Hunter w/ his Snare Rifle right? And the one that has really been driving me nuts that I may have just figured out is "fliobi" or as I've seen it typed just "flobi". Does that refer to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi General from GAW? And alas I have no Cade, Barriss Offee JK or Felucian. Yet. Just building what i can for my league based upon what I have. I will be interested to see if anyone brings a squad like this to the league though.

Dark Woman is a lot of fun. Yes, Flobi means Obi Jedi General. Do you not own a Mas Amedda?

I do own Mas. But for the purposes of this week's league rules I can't use him. Thanks for all the feedback Big D!

Welcome to BlooMilk, GF. A few comments: 1. Good idea to come here and get some feedback from other players. Some great ideas here to get you thinking. 2. Bad idea to come here and post the squads you might play. Other league players may see it and build against it. (Actually, I had my team ready the other day. Now I'm quaking in my boots because I don't know how I'd fare against you.) 3. If you don't have figures, see the really cool guy that runs your league. Maybe he'd let you borrow them like he's done with other players.

As for Item #2, that thought did cross my mind but I figured I would throw caution to the wind. It's all about friendly competition anyway.

Here's one that could be "fun"
--Evil Cade.-- 61 Cade Skywalker, Bounty Hunter 49 Darth Malak, Dark Lord of the Sith 27 Darth Bandon 24 Sith Inquisitor 23 Jarael 14 Exar Kun, Dark Force Spirit
(198pts. 6 activations)
Three of them are V-set (DotF) and you could maybe borrow the rest from that cool guy.

If there's no limit to activations, try this: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/101055/sit200-force-only-swarmLOTS of Parry. (just watch out for those pesky shooters)

I'd like to see Chargers move across the lake (with his group) and play in West Michigan. I LOVE hearing about all of the league ideas that they run. That seems like it would be a RIOT.
So, what do you think Chargers?
