Say you swap out Emp Palp SL (62pts) for Vader Scourge (55pts)...how is the 7 point difference handled?

-directly added to opponents VPs when swap is announced
-makes Gilad's squad worth 7 less points, meaning you only need to defeat/earn (X-7) points to win. (X = squad total at time of reveal)

(haven't checked over on Gamers)

Neither.

Score points for pieces defeated during the game as normal. (Palpatine is ignored as he's no longer part of the squad.) The game ends when you reach the build total (not the squad cost) as normal.

Just so that I am clear, in the above example:
Squad cost is X, for instance 200 points.
Build total= x-62+55 = x-7, for instance 193 points.

Game ends when opponent defeats 193 points.
Right?

P.S. Gilad is still part of the Squad. Palpy is out. LOL

No. The game has never worked that way. You must score the build total, not the cost of the enemy squad. Whether someone has a 200, 199, or 22 point squad in a 200 point game you still need to score 200 points to win.

Eh?

How do they score 200pts if there's only 193 available?

Note that you also win by completely eliminating the enemy squad. Scoring is ignored if that occurs.

Now I think that it is clearer:

Build total is 200.
Designed Squad total could be 199 with Palpy
New Squad total would be 192 with Vader

A win occurs when opponent:
1) kill whole squad (192)
2) obtains victory points (kill + gambit) at the end of the round equal to or greater than build total (200).

I was misunderstanding the definitions of "build" and "squad". Thanks.
