Hi all,
Me and my local group of friends decided to ditch heroclix and pick up starwars. Weve been going through the growing process of understanding the rules and what makes the game tick.
However weve come to an impasse of what constitutes an attack when pertaining to General Obi Wan Kenobi.
Can he really shrug off pulse cannon 40, grenades 40, Missles 4, etc?
Some abilities say replaces attacks which would make them and "attack" right?
Were just trying to figure out what this super beast can fend off and almost take on anything.
Thanks

No, those things are not attacks. An attack is specifically when you roll a d20, add that to your attack value, and compare it to your opponent's defense value. Anything else does not count as an attack. I believe this is covered in the glossary definition of "attack".
Also note that in competitive play, Soresu Style Mastery now only effects non-melée attacks, instead of all attacks.

So with Pulse Cannon 40 for example would I/We need to roll a d20 or would we just target a character within line of sight and just give them 40 DMG?

With pulse cannon, you roll for a save of 11 to reduce the damage to 10, it is not an attack so you only roll the save, you don't need to make an attack roll for this or any ability that replaces attacks unless it says attack.

Target a character within line of sight, but you still have to follow the normal targeting rules. (it doesn't work like Accurate Shot) Replaces attacks: sight; is saying that there isn't a specific range limit as there is with many other abilities and force powers.
