One of my laminated maps is the Rebel Storm starter. One side is the Death Star, but the other side is blank. I wonder if white board pens wipe cleanly off the laminate...

yes, those type of pens should wipe off fine.

Looks ok at first glance. override might give you some issues on the right side and I have some concerns about the left being very unfriendly to squads that want to hide their commanders (lots of those squads around).

For map testing I actually have a 24x36" pad of graph paper I bought from an office supply store. It's got a 1" grid and it's designed to be hung on an easel, but it works well. It can be a little harder to make changes on the fly, but I like it because I can keep all of the versions I tested and compare them later.

I don't have a pac-man miniature :P That's a very interesting concept, I wonder what it will look like once you've applied the imagery.
