--Pawning Domination of Pain--
57 Darth Sidious, Sith Master
32 B'omarr Monk
27 Lobot
24 Sith Inquisitor
21 Sith Acolyte
14 Exar Kun, Dark Force Spirit
16 R7 Astromech Droid x2
6 Mouse Droid x2
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

Preferred Reinforcements:
(Lobot) 9 Mouse Droid x3
(Lobot) 9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

(200pts. 17 activations)

I think by just seeing the pieces we can see what I sort of have in mind here.

Exar Kun uses his Dark Aura and works his way into the midst of an enemy squad.

Bo’marr Monk tries to Dominate pieces…either of its own accord or pawned or if it can an activation to dominate and a pawn to dominate! Double Whammy!

Then I can Master of Pain it! Possibly twice (or two separate pieces) via Pawn (if I don’t Pawn the Monk)

Depending on the piece MoP I could feasibly Pawn it (if I haven’t used that ability by now!)

Then the kicker of my idea…to swap out the piece MoP with the Acolyte. The Acolyte would be used for the Force Repulse 3 and I would have had that piece adjacent to Darth Sidious who has triple attack and can lay a beat down on the other piece once it switches back sides.

I realize this is a “trick” heavy squad and also heavily dependent on my opponents rolling ability…but the potential is sick IMO. If played right! well maybe…can I get some thoughts on it? lol

And please be brutally honest on how you think it would fair and if you even think the concept would play out well in a tourney/match.

In a tourney, I wouldn't think I'd play too well since it relies a lot on opponent rolls and in a tourney, they will probably make the save when you really need them to fail it once or twice, overall, it wouldn't do too bad if you're prepared for them to make their saves at crucial times and have a back-up plan in case of anti-swap squads.

As for the build itself, I'd take out an R7, triple override is overkill in the base squad, especially if you have Lobot, and lastly, if you rely on master of pain more than dominate, replace the Bo-Marr monk with sly moore. Seems good otherwise.

I sort of figured that with the saves, but I sort of knew that going into a "trick" squad build like this one...but rolling 15's would be tough on a good day (well at least for me. Blushing ) good thing about it is, you can't blame yourself for rolling poorly! BigGrin

triple OR wasn't purposely done, I honestly couldn't think of other figures to use in their stead. Once added I figured "Well at least I can have door control." ThumbsUp --- I guess now I should look into "what" to replace one of them with.

and although I understand why you'd want to switch out the Bo-Marr with Sly (save a few points), Darth Sidious can not Pawn Sly...So I wouldn't add Sly in this case over the Monk.
The ability to Pawn the Monk into position then use its own ativation and Dominate a piece beats Sly out in this case IMO.

Thanks for the feed back Sega!ThumpUp

Maybe Gha Nackt or an R5 droid to give repair to the Monk, would make it last longer than 4 rounds.

A very cool gimmick squad, I may try it out. I think you would have to keep very mobile to avoid the other side catching up though, as you don't have much in the way of real attacks lol.

If I try it out I'll let you know how it fares.

True and Gha Nackt also lets Lobot bring in a larger mouse wall...if needed....although Gha was NOT something I thought about, the R5 was...for the "Ah ha! Look I just repaired my Pawn damage!" lol

Thanks Lobotnik!

I think if I get to play this weekend I'll give it a go too!

What would be really fun to see is this squad against itself in a mirror match. Then again, if any of the main pieces switch sides permanently it would be fairly decisive.

Just imagine stealing GML of Darth Bane or some other epic figure. Wait, could you MoP an AT-AT? That would be devastating!

I think I might have to create a squad with a small swarm of Sith Inquisitors, just to try that out.

so flipped in Gha Nachkt and brought in a R5...now the Monk can survive a touch longer...Mouse Walls can be huge...

MoP only works on "living" characters. So I do not think it would work on an AT-AT or AT-ST sadly....unless they are living also?

and Dominating a GMLS to tiple twin an adjacent piece would be epic! lol
