i was looking through the comments on the top rated squad and one of the comments said that you could set up mouse traps to block the enemies but i dont understand what the point of this would be because they dont have any damage so they couldnt do AoO's.

Basically it means people use a bunch of mouse droids to create a wall of them to protect their own pieces and/or block out enemy pieces.

If you don't have jedi leap, you can't move over the mice. So if you get cornered by a few mice you are stuck trying to defeat them. I was just blocked in this weekend by some of my opponents mice. My Jedi Watchman was stuck in a train car on the Freight transit map. I had to either waste two turns to defeat the mice or spend a whole turn going over multiple block of rough terrain to get out of the train car.
Either way, I could not get out into the center of the map to make any viable play against my opponent's pieces that round. I was mouse trapped. I tried to kill one, but with an Atk of +9 to hit a Def of 20, I failed, and failed again after using a force point to reroll.
It won't always work, but having a few 3 pt minis block the movement of a much costlier piece, it's very effective movement breaker. You can also place them in a single tile doorway, which allow non-melee to fire over them but stop a melee piece and force them to attack and kill it. If they try to do that, you can hopefully shoot at them some more or even override the door infront of them and force them to go around the long way.

They are there to prevent the enemy dealing out damage onto you. By blocking his minis off with Mouse Droids, you can protect yourself. For example, putting one in the way so Mara Jade Jedi has to move 7 squares to base you, so can't LS Assault. Or putting a mouse in front of a mini so a non-accurate shooter has to waste a shot at a mouse, or waste an activation to kill it.
It is also possible to block doors with them, and build walls, mainly to prevent movement. They aren't there to deal damage, just make the enemy waste activations killing them, or waste force points moving around them.

If you really want to block those melee pieces, use two diplomats in a two square wide hallway. Place your shooters behind the diplomats.

Hence, melee pieces will have the hardest time taking diplomats down...however, Lord Vader has his Lightsaber Sweep + Overwhelming Force loophole...but that's another story.

Accurate shot would only come into play in this situation if the shooters behind the diplomats were stealth and were more than 6 squares away from the potential attacking shooters. Since diplomats don't count as legal targets under these conditions, they would not prevent a non-accurate shooter from targeting the pieces hiding behind the diplomats. The diplomatic wall prevents characters with normal movement capabilities (not possessing abilities like flight and wallclimbing for example) from passing through that area and basing the hiding figures.
As it has already been stated, the mouse wall strategy is more than just physically restricting movement. It can be forcing unwanted targeting, extending movement by your opponent to pass them, as well as boxing your opponent in. All the while they still grant the Relay Orders ability.

People have been doing this trick since the game first came out. Mice are just the newest way to do it. Ewoks used to clog up hallways so have uggies. Heck I still use uggies to jamb up hallways and stop advancing melee to keep them off my shooters. If you don't have mice I'd use uggies and play either wedge or rieekan. Now your hallway cloggers have evade :).

Hence, Force Leap has become an extremely underrated ability today..

Question, since it applies to the mouse blockade technique, how does one determine legal target for blaster barrage?
Say you had three mice and a Twi'lek Vigo sitting behind them. Can you kill all the mice and then the Vigo at a normal def of 18, or would you still have to give him a +4 from mouse cover since he had cover from the mice when you initiated the barrage?

Who's doing the barraging? If it's not Arica or any other Sniper/Accurate shooter, then the TBSV is not a legal target since he is not the closest. Assuming none of the mousies have cover, you can shoot all three but not the TBSV...I think that's how it works, lol.
