Groundbreaking news here, jedi mind trick sucks. Has ANYONE EVER spent a force point to use jedi mind trick? If so, it was probably a waste. You have to spend a force point AND activate one of your characters for a 50/50 chance at skipping an opposing figure's turn? Well, for starters, at 50/50, you should only use it if the character you are trying to use jedi mind trick on is like twice the point cost of the character who is using it. Because really, is it worth trying to jedi mind trick a 5 point stormtrooper by activating my 49 point Luke, COTF? Toydarian is immune to jedi mind trick, but what moron is gonna waste a force point and an activation of a high point character for a 50/50 shot at skipping the toydarian's turn?

At the very least, I feel like jedi mind trick should take control of the opposing figure's turn. Otherwise, it's just plain useless.

Jedi Mind Trick doesn't have the range of Force Stun, true. But don't discount the possibility of not taking an AoO if you want to run away.

And remember, it doesn't replaces attacks. So you can still move and/or attack and use it. If you aren't using the Force Point for anything else that turn, why wouldn't you try to remove an opponent's activation, even if it is a super cheap fig. Removing an activation is a very good strategy. It's why I love Sith Sorcery.

Actually, it's incredibly powerful if you use it correctly. No, you would never use it against a Stormtrooper; but what about Cad Bane? A 50% chance to activate your opponent's main attacker is totally worth it. I'm a huge fan of activating abilities, like Jolt, Sith Sorcery, Force Stun, and even Jedi Mind Trick. JMT gets bonus point for not replacing attacks/turn, so you can do it in addition to whatever else.

The biggest issue with JMT right now is that it doesn't appear on many very good pieces. That will be changing very soon, though.

Agreed. Of all the ones you listed, Sith Sorcery is probably the deadliest. Know why Sith dont have tempo control? Its b/c they just lower their opponents' with SS. Move a Mynock or speeder into deep enemy territory, then use Tranfer Essense with Exar. Triple attack. Next round, boon. Your opponent is left with little to no activations, depending on how he rolls :P

My buddy kept bassing me with his Flobi and I didn't really want to see my Luke's Landspeeder go down that quickly. So I mind tricked him for 3 turns in row and mopped up his squad. It doesn't always work the best, but when it does I love it.

I was going to post that exact story. Except it was 40hps (you hit both on the double attack). Game ended with your Qui-gon JT killing my Qui-gon JT with 40hps remaining :)

I'm not sure, but from what the OP says, it sounds like he was treating JMT as "replaces attacks". In which case it would suck.

Yup, I really showed my inexperience here. I was under the impression that it replaced attacks. Now who's the moron? lol

lol, no worries, it is fairly unusual for an ability like that to not replace attacks, and you certainly would be correct that it would suck if it did replace attacks. Hopefully you'll be able to get more use out of it now, though!

Really? the save 16 is better i agree, however if you are facing a character that has it are you going to bunch your character together so your opponent can use it on multiple characters?? Same as flamethrower, you just don't bunch your character together?
While it can still be useful against a character like Darth Bane not sure it worth 3 force points. and also think in the case of Master Kavar who has it, I think it was overcosted and not quite as useful as it looks on paper. Still I am sure some will say how wonderful they find it, well each to the own i guess. I think Kavar was just overcosted full stop.

Still look though the rest of the characters and other than about 5 most are IMO very well designed and will add to the game. Plus others I am sure will like all, so just saying my opinion.
