I have a few dozen (okay, maybe a few hundred) Heroclix minis that I would like to use in my Star Wars RPG. Unfortunately, the bases are too big, so I need to "covert" them to 1-inch bases.
Given that I will probably need 100-200 bases, does anyone have any suggestions? Is there cheap alternative to cutting up 100+ SWM/DDM pieces to get the bases? Maybe some other material or something that would make a decent base?
Barring that, anyone have suggestions on where I might find 100+ minis REAL cheap? :) (I mean, like, a few cents each?)
Any help would be appreciated.

A couple options I can think of: After carefully removing the figure from the base. 1) Using a cutting tool of some kind( Diagonal Cutter for instance) cut the base down to desired size (or close enough), and reglue the figure. 2) us a small 1" hole saw and drill to "cut" bases (thin plywood perhaps?) 3) Ask your LGS or hobby if they have/can order some 1" bases. 4) glue each figure to a quarter (a bit more than a few cents each though).

what you need is 25 mm round closed bases, or 25 mm square bases.
have you tried to Google them? I got mine from Auggies a few months back. you should find them for about 20 cents each, not a few pennies, but easier and quicker than making your own. they look great too, I use them on my customs.

Buy round bases online from E bay, thats what i do. These are not as good as Star Wars bases but are still OK. Also some shops such as Games Workshop sell bases as well. Dread

Aside from buying 25mm bases, most craft stores sell round wooden discs in different sizes. I don't know why they are actually used for but paint them black and you should have some usable SWM bases
