If a Savage character is within range of a character with Empathy, does that negate any savage-specific CEs that the Savage character would otherwise be subject to? I had always taken it for granted that it does (because Empathy doesn't suppress Savage, it says specifically to treat the character as if it did not have Savage), but I had never bothered to check it out. Now that we have a piece (Sith Wrangler) with both Empathy and a savage-specific CE, I'm more inclined to say the CE would still work. I'm sure there's a precedent for this from way back in Champions of the Force, when the first savage-specific CE (Exar Kun) came out. Can anyone give me a definite ruling on this?

Empathy removes Savage, thus a character is ineligible for Savage related CEs.
